I removed the spam runs. It's a very inactive game, verification isn't really needed. This is the first time something like this has come up and it was solved quickly, not sure why all of you are so interested when you don't even run the game. |

Forum: The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild Thread: Amiibo Started by: bobakanoosh55555bobakanoosh55555 |
I don't care if Any% is the one with amiibo or without it, but I think Any% With Amiibo and Any% Without Amiibo should be separate categories. Just having a filter leaves them in the same leaderboard, and as the same category, and I don't think that's fair. The point was brought up that people had to pay more for certain versions of games in the past, and while that's true, that's paying more for a version of the base game. I think paying more for stuff outside of the game that gives you an advantage is entirely different. That's like if a community allowed using a gameshark for their main category, so you had to buy one of those to even compete on an even playing field. Like I said, I don't really care if Any% is the one with the amiibos, because I think people will go to the superior category regardless of what it's named, I just think they should be separate. |

I know they're banned for ILs, but there are emulator subcategories for every full game category. |
Forum: Super Mario 64 Thread: Is there any reason Dolphin isn't used for emulator runs? Started by: SilverhandSilverhand |
Learning the game on emu before switching to console, and just wondering if there's any reason not to use Dolphin to emulate the VC version of the game. Out of all the emu leaderboards every one of them uses N64 emulators, but from what I can tell Dolphin feels the same. Is there anything that doesn't work or any reason not to use it? |

Seems like a good idea, but I think it would be best to just have the mods be able to change that text. It could be used for different things for different games. |

I really want this as well. There's no way to do it that I can find, and I just won't be using the following system until there is, as that is one of my favorite parts of this site. |
Forum: The Site Thread: Does the video needed to request a game have to be a full run or can it be an individual level? Started by: PalterPalter |
I'd just go ahead and upload a run for submitting the game. Even if it's an awful time, it's proof that you run the game, which would be good enough. |
Forum: The Site Thread: Show more games in search Started by: SilverhandSilverhand |
So I speedrun a game called EDGE. It's a rather short and generic name for a game, and this often causes problems with searching for it. On this site you used to be able to find it through search, but now you can only get to it by typing the url, because more games were added that had the letters "edge" somewhere in them (particularly a ton of Sonic the H¤edge¤hog games). It would be nice if you could expand the number of games the search shows, because for some games there's nothing more specific you can type, and they still don't show up when you type in the exact name. |
Forum: Titan Souls Thread: Playing with keyboard Started by: SilverhandSilverhand |
I'm thinking about picking this up during the current Steam Sale, mainly with the purpose of speedrunning it. I very much prefer playing games with keyboard over a controller. I know this game has limited aiming when using keyboard, my question is does this affect the speedrun much, or can you still speedrun this fine using keyboard? |
Forum: The Site Thread: Hide #1 emulator time while still showing others Started by: SyuraSyura |
I'd be fine with having separate emu leaderboards as an option. I wouldn't want that to be mandatory for all games that allow emu, but it would be a nice option to have. |
Forum: The Site Thread: Suggestion: Be able to "follow" categories/games and get notifications when a new time is posted. Started by: RSRRSR |
Following just the game would be fine, I was just suggesting it for games with a lot of categories (more than 2 or 3) and a person might only run one of those categories and only want to see runs for it. It still wouldn't be that bad for them to just follow the game, and that's probably an uncommon situation. |
Forum: The Site Thread: Hide #1 emulator time while still showing others Started by: SyuraSyura |
I think it should be either completely banned or completely allowed. Like you said, if you're new to the game and want to try it out with an emulator, you can still do that, it just could be banned from the leaderboards. You can still run it on that for a while and compare your time to the leaderboard in your head to get a general idea of where you would be. I'm personally for allowing emulator overall for the majority of games, unless there's any major problem with that specific game, but even if it's banned for a game I think it's better to ban it outright or not at all. |

Thanks. I couldn't remember if I had seen any other games do it. Seemed like that's how it should be handled, but I just wanted to check. |
Forum: The Site Thread: Question about requesting a game Started by: SilverhandSilverhand |
So I'm requesting a game I run to be added to the site. If the game is completely different but under the same name on that system, should I put the system abbreviation in the name of the game? The game is on GBA, and the GBA version is a completely different game than the Xbox/PS2/GCN/PC game of the same name, just to clarify. |

Lighnat0r I'd also really like this feature, and as for more specific suggestions, being able to follow individual runners and see runs of any game they post, and being able to follow a specific category for a game would be cool to have. |

Forum: Harry Potter Thread: Where to buy? Started by: SilverhandSilverhand |
So I'm considering running one of the earlier (1-3) Harry Potter games on PC. From a quick google search the only way I see to buy them is through Amazon. Is there any way to buy these games digitally, or is purchasing a CD my best bet? Also is there anywhere in particular you would recommend buying them from? Edit: While I'm posting here, does anyone have a recommendation on which of the first 3 games to run if I did? |
