No, you cannot use loads which were attained before starting the run, we have debated an extreme category where this is allowed, but in the standard any% as well as NLM you can not use loads which were created before the timer is started

yeah agreed in a way. da2 is the better game, but da1 got a lot more attention for some reason, I know a lot of people who played da1 but never da2

i am unsure, of what pipe bomb strat you are referring to, it may be easier to clarify if you join the l4d2 discord and ask there

dont take damage and dont use a weapon if i had to guess. However we have no category for that as a speedrun no, follow your own rules and if you decide to upload to youtube, be clear explaining what they are 🙂

I would recommend joining the discord to get quicker responses, ill make the category, but id like to see the run if possible beforehand

Thread: Section for mutation modes?

Started by: MunchiesMunchies

we voted to remove LMOE in favour of the blastoff mutation, due to player interest being much higher in one than the other, it was essentially unanimously agreed upon that LMOE was really boring to most players

i know it sounds boring but the problem is if you allow deleting and importing, its just the exact same as the solo run, and it'd be better to leave player 2 out because of bull rush

thing is if you can delete characters than it'd just be faster if we just kept the second character out most of the time, like i could just resubmit my any% to co-op and it would still be a good run

there is some concerns with co-op as of this point in time, being that the most optimal way to play co-op right now would most of the time involve the second player not playing, I've thought about starting the game in 2p mode and disallowing the second player from being taken out of the game, but that also removes most of the skips, and i think komrade disagrees with the idea.

i think we should also ban ps2 and xbox, only gba is allowed

I submitted a run on GCN and in the verification process apparently my gamecube saves faster than the game moderators, what could cause this?

Thread: What got you into speedrunning?

Started by: JeromeJerome

I actually got into speedrunning back in 2012 watching mcgamers windwaker any% runs, but that would lead me into eventually watching cosmo Wright and then I saw oot speedruns. I started with ocarina of time any% back in 2012, and learnt some old mst route, before eventually giving up because I didn’t have the drive, I still watched speedruns for years to come though, until one day I was casually playing l4d with some friends, and we just decided, how fast can we beat no mercy? So we just kept trying and trying lol, then I went and looked up the wr, got into his streams and eventually learnt strats and started running the game.

Thread: Major problem with my Elgato HD; staff can't solve it!

I use an elgato hd60 the stuttering happens to me too on obs, I have to use the elgato game capture thing, which is fine for recording raw feed, but for streaming it sucks

but the current wr is glitchless Kappa, but actually this game is incredibly boring glitchless, there’s not much interest into a glitchless category other than you, it would be very annoying to define what qualifies as a glitch and what does not as this game has some very unclear lines between a glitch and not a glitch. And it would just kill co-op making co-op glitchless essentially pointless

Extreme is literally impossible if you start from level one unless you grind out tons of levels from the crypt boss

It appears as though the problem is just with obs, it works fine in the elgato game capture program
