I don't think the bios are too hard to find. Just Google gbc bios and it should pop right up.

that sounds like something that wouldn't be on the main boards, but maybe the gen 1 category extensions would be a better place if people think its a good idea https://www.speedrun.com/pkmnrbyext

hey, the mods for 'Trip World' haven't been on in awhile and I have a run thats been sitting for 24 days, some friends told me this was the forum to go to. Its not that big of a deal as the game hasn't had that much activity in a while but I'm willing to mod for it if need be. I tried to find a way to contact the super mod but I dont think they have dms/whispers enabled (not too sure, I'm kind of bad at this), however, they do still seem to be active on other platforms. If someone DOES have a way to contact them, please do, I'm bad at using social media platforms so it could be just that.

thank you for readin'

I think we've talked about it (when people ran this game LUL), not sure what the outcome was from those conversations. there will probably be some things to decide on, especially with mew since you can encounter mew, but mew is physically impossible to catch so would we just have to encounter mew? or just skip mew entirely? im guessing the category wont be made until someone does a run of it

picking up a jp copy is hella easy tbh. you can get one for like $10 on ebay (which goes for most jp games)

citra is still absurdly inaccurate. idk which 3ds boards your looking at that accept them.

i believe the run is legit. sure theres a chance that it could be faked but he provided splits time so we know its possible. also he hasnt been online in 2 years and his only social link is youtube so good luck getting in contact with him. i think the lower the time is should motivate people to try to find new techniques to beat it instead of complaining about it, if it is faked, its still possible to beat which should be a reason to strive to beat it.

it wasn't removed, emulators were hidden by default im guessing. turn the emulator filter on and you'll see the run.

no, ive read every post, also I used to run this game about a year ago and I still agree that using the "Level Select" feature shouldn't be something allowed except for ILs of course. a lot of us who are talking in this thread probably have done some runs before as well, just because we don't have runs submitted doesn't mean we haven't run the game.

just stop @Hachimen, can't you see NO ONE wants this, except for you. idk if your some kind of narcissist or something but just see that none of us want this, except for you of course. once again we've all given great reasons why we wouldn't want this, you've also given good reasons why you want this, but just try to see.

also I like jumpyluff's plan of turning off notifications. just try to see the point where trying to make.

i believe that everything should stay the same still even with your reasoning's with the changes. im pretty sure i speak for the majority when i say this, but using a level select feature in a speedrun is stupid (also that shouldn't even be in the rules since its kinda self explanatory). the way i look at the level select feature is like loading a already existing save file before an OOT run begins. also menuing doesnt really work for this type of game, the run will probably seem more tedious than enjoyable. i also am pretty sure that hachimen is the only person who wants this change from the looks of it, so why bother changing something this small that one person wants to change in the community? another thing i want to bring up is the current situation in the 'super mario bros', those times are down to the milliseconds and theres nothing holding back whg from having the same optimizations with the current rule sets since there is no rng. im just thankful that in the past 3 months there has been more changes to the board than this board has had in the past 3 years (we now have ILs, No coin, and a updated version of WHG and we even have a whg discord now, all in the last 3 months).

anyway, everyone has said some valuable reasons why we shouldn't have the level select be brought into this game so hopefully we can drop this subject now.

Thread: why time without loads?

Started by: RioynerRioyner

(edited: )

im wondering why there is a "Time without loads" time and a "Time with loads" since loads dont effect this game and are the same every time even between different devices. also, one other question, is timer and audio optional? or just audio? it isn't broken up too well in the rules 😛

what would stop someone from making a tas beforehand and then stream the tas footage? im not that opposed to the idea but people that would want to cheat would probably continue to do so tbh.

Take a break. What your experiencing is like artists block, you know what time you want to get but you can't get yourself to do it or you over work yourself which will just have mostly negative results. I've been there with speed running myself, ended up taking a 3 month break and immediately started seeing improvements. Your break doesn't have to be that long, just as long as you feel like it.
