Thread: Downgrade After the new launcher???

do you have the game on steam or through social club?

- If steam, then read the pinned comment on the video.

- If through social club, the easiest way is to simply deinstall the rockstar launcher, thats how I do it atleast.
Someone suggested that you can just let it patch all the way, then downgrade and start the new launcher with offline mode but I haven't tried that myself yet.

no.
We already have a arbitrary category with trevor% that serves as a race category.
There is no good reason for this category and that has been discussed before on discord aswell.
It has even been submitted to category extension before and was declined over there.

So I guess I'm reporting this as a bug, I posted a thread about it earlier so for reference:

Basically GTA V is currently set to:
Seperate load times: ON
Default timing method: Time with loads

We want to change it to the following but we are unable to, as the site isn't accepting the request for it:
Seperate load times: OFF
Default timing Method: Time with loads

After turning off seperate load times I have these 3 options: https://i.imgur.com/gQ2ENrn.png
However, when I choose Time with loads(or In-game time) and hit save, it says it saved the changes but it defaults back to Real time without loads.

One other weird thing is that with the current settings, eventhough default timing method is set to time with loads and the leaderboards are also being sorted by that, when viewing a run it will actually show the loadless timer where you'd expect the time with loads to be.
This is especially confusing for viewers/new runners etc.

I noticed that bug aswell. The dropdown only switches after I turned off, and saved, the "seperate load times" like you said.
But even after that, everytime I try to change the timing method it will still not actually change it. I've even looked into the audit log and by looking at the "defaulttime": 0, line in there I saw that the change didn't properly go through.
This is me first(right side) turning off seperate load-times, then 2nd changing from "Real-time without loads" to "Time with Loads". https://i.imgur.com/z7A7cPd.png
Both requests are identical so somehow that didn't go through.

As I was writing this I had the suspicion it could be a browser problem so I tried with a different one, unfortunately same result.

Thread: Removing loadless Timing Method

Hey, I'm a super-mod on the gtaV leaderboards. https:/​/​www.​speedrun.​com/​gtav/​full_game
We currently have "time with loads" as our default timing method but also allow people to submit a loadless time alongside.

There are multiple issues with the loadless timer: Not being accurate, spreading confusion etc. so we want to get rid off it.

First I tried turning off the "seperate load times" setting.
If I do that then the leaderboards are defaulting to the loadless timer, which results in only a fraction of the runs having a time displayed at all(since it was optional to submit this). With the seperate load times option turned off I literally can't change the default timing method to "time with loads" anymore. I do the change and it says that it saved the change, but it always defaults back to loadless.
Also tried messing around with real-time or ingame timer which all resulted in the same thing happening.

I can always fix it by going back to the old settings so nothing got deleted.

Currently the only solution we see to this problem would be manually removing everyone's loadless timer, but that would need to include all obsolete runs aswell and we would essentially be deleting data where it seems like there should be a better solution.

Thread: All Stunts - Need Help

I like to practise new runs in sections.
For stunt jumps as an example, I'd practise the entire dock section for half an hour or so, then I'll definetly remember the order of those jumps and only have to remember where to go after and then just do that with each section of the run.

the rule states " Using the 500k 'Preoder DLC' is prohibited (http://imgur.com/a/aSCT8). You are not allowed to do anything that is not possible without the bonus."
They aren't doing anything that isn't possible without the bonus.
As Makkebakke already said, the hospital bills are higher when you have more money.
To be specific, if you have enough money, the hospital bills will be 5k.
For players without the preorder bonus the hopistal bills are only 15.
So basically for every death a player has with the preorder bonus, you have to add 4985 dollars to their balance to have an actual comparison.

I feel like this category might not be as interesting because there isn't as much that can go wrong like in all stunt jumps for example, especially because rng is involved there. Routing would probably be interesting though. I'd like having it in there.

I don't think anyone figured out how to prevent it, but then again all are running on 1.27 anyway and don't have to bother with it.
Basically just swap cars if you get the white truck and see something else and then get the disrupt, drive back up the hill and then down again once it respawns is the best you can do.

Thread: Conclusions of FPS Cap tests and potential legacy boards (vote later)

Eventhough I haven't run the game for some time now:
If I ever wanted to push my time I'd like to have a FPS cap there so that I have a realistic chance of getting where everyone else is, instead of having to buy new hardware. If it really is such a big time loss as you describe(which I can't know) then I'd be for creating a legacy board but I also know how that may suck for the game when all of the sudden all 38runs are now "gone" and only a few of those are comming back as not everyone is an active runner anymore.
Thats why for the overall health of the speedrun removing the FPS cap or making an even higher FPS cap where the times are beatable/comparable again might be better. Hardware will only become better in the comming years so if you look into the future of running this game, more and more people will be able to reach those FPS values.

save warping is clearly a glitch and we decided against it, so we should discuss about this being excluded in classic%

if classic% is the funner run to do, then don't include stupid things like this into the category, thats my logic atleast.
I get the problem that you could just open other programs to fuck your fps, in that case the strat would need to be banned.

My point was that we have classic% because people wanted to have a more enjoyable category than NMS, which is why we can make rules in that category how we "want" them. I know where the naming came from.

well yea ofc its about going fast, but if it wasn't for viewing experience a community wouldn't really grow, would it?
If its about going fast then why do we have a arbitrary category like classic%? I wasn't around when that categry was made but I'd assume it was created because the other categories are garbage compared to how you could run it.
No one wants to see nor run a game where you kill yourself three times in a row, one hundred times in a row.
I wouldn't want to run a game where I have to do stupid tricks like limiting my fps for a minute to do a certain skip.

Would it be an option to only allow this in everything but classic%?

I've always disliked runs where you have to run third party tools, change framerates there, change settings multiple times midrund etc. just to have certain strats work or w/e.
While it adds something new to the run, it also confuses the viewer even more. Good speedruns and strats can be understood by people who played the game and just watch the run. Bad speedruns have lots of tutorials you need to read first before even understanding whats going on.
I'd say either ban the strat, or don't allow changing your fps cap midrun.

you could also just state that its not allowed to use the preorder bonus, and its also not allowed to use a cab when you don't have enough money for the cab.
Both runners would have the same "gamble" if they're not sure if they have enough money as both of this would make the run invalid.
Limiting it to only use one cab until you get a heli kinda limits the category to find new strats.
If someone figures out how to make a few thousands as franklin within lets say 1-2minutes, that strat wouldn't be possible due to the restriction.

though my solution could theoratically limit it aswell, because maybe there's a strat where you wouldn't care about getting cops and take the cab anyway, either way we should find a solution.

with option 1 you'd be missing out on some of the mission only because its "easier" to run like that. The only reason restarting in prologue for classic% is allowed for example is because it has the same timing, if it would warp you, you'd have to restart everytime aswell.
