I thought the same, but he has this self-submitted run in Banjo-Tooie: https://www.speedrun.com/bt/run/8yvrg84z

I couldn't find anything else to suggest he's from/lives in Luxembourg though

Also Taylor v. is TPositive. Preferably should add the system to the [existing run] to avoid a duplicate.

The runs ended up disappearing for some reason when I ended up creating categories but I'm more than ok with resubmitting stuff.

Usually this happens because the runs aren't assigned to any subcategory, so they don't show up but still exist as runs.

Good update IMO

I can't make much sense of the response, but if you are fine with Website / wiki being used in more ways then so am I. It should be clear though

I don't think you can put all Wikipedia links down to the old labeling. I agree that a concise note is difficult to write. I would suggest something like "Not for wikis unrelated to speedrunning, or direct links to the game".

EDIT:

I'm not sure how prevalent Wikipedia links are now compared to in the past, but one suggestion I just heard is to block Wikipedia links in that field. There's no circumstance that would be the correct usage of it.

Thanks for both including those ellipses. I wanted to be absolutely clear on what the staff intend it to be used for before suggesting any games use it "incorrectly".

Originally posted by ShikenNuggetsalso if you're bringing in examples of leaderboards misusing it, worth noting that IIRC it was actually mislabeled for a while, so that's likely why it's been used incorrectly

I remember when it was labeled as "Website / Wikipedia". That was a while ago though and Wikipedia links are not the only issue. Also, "wiki" still makes some people's minds jump to Wikipedia.

I won't list specific examples of misuse, but if you search 'site:speedrun.com "website / wiki"' you can see how common it is. The issue is of course how few games have a dedicated speedrunning site. It's probably one of the least used features on the site, but since it exists, I think it's a good idea to provide some information on it. Other fields have this, such as "eg, smb2. Optional, must be unique", "For matching streams on Twitch", and "Non-expiring invitation link". Community website / wiki only has the example of "zeldaspeedruns.com", which is not explicit at all.

And yes, even if you put in big capital letters not to link to the Wikipedia article, people would still do it, but it won't hurt to add some clarification to a feature that is so often misused.

I'm glad it is so obvious to you, but if you explain to me what the intended purpose of it is, I'm sure I can find many leaderboards where the purpose was not clear to the moderator.

Can there be a note under the "Community website / wiki" field clarifying the purpose of it?

Can you retime my run? I think it might just be a 13:06

This isn't one of the Rusty Lake games I've played so I don't know how to identify 100% completion. I messaged chryoyo about this last week but didn't get a response.

Regardless I would agree with doing a run first.

And the Cosmic Capers rules:

- You don't have to record your run, but you still must show evidence of your time by showing a video/picture in the Cosmic Capers leaderboard screen.

I won't necessarily object to changing the rules though.

Video proof is required for all runs.

That's not true

Thread: Puffle Launch target times

Started by: RandomnoRandomno

While some levels in Puffle Launch are likely dead, others have known improvements or are frames away from an untied. I am posting this to keep a record of which levels are the closest to being improved.

I made a mod of the game which has all levels, the timer, turbo mode and slow motion unlocked from the start, and tracks centiseconds. If you want the file ask me on the Discord server. Note that it is not valid for submitted runs.

The game rounds all times, so to cut a full second you must get below x.50. So x.54 is two frames away from untied, x.58 three frames, and so on.

Level 4: 13.58. Very possible if a balloon bounce can be cut from the ending.

Level 5: 4.54. Still can't beat 4.54 after many dupes. A different bounce may be possible.

Level 8: 8.5. I don't know if this run had any imperfections.

Level 12, 24, 36: All boss levels, not heavily optimised.

Level 13: 8.5 (not recorded).

Level 14: Bounce from the last anvil into the catapult is possible, likely saving a second.

Level 19: Very long and difficult level, under a minute is certainly doable. Panda has posted a slightly faster start.

Level 20: See the videos here. Last shot is very precise but combining the runs should save 2 seconds.

Level 21: A second faster with a single bounce on the penultimate balloon.

Level 22: Not well optimised.

Level 33: A couple of bounces can be done first try saving a few seconds.

Level 34: A few bounces on the boxes can be saved.

Level 35: Flying straight into the goal is possible and may cut a second depending on how low the decimal of the current WR was.

The release date is listed as 2009, it is apparently 2006 or 2007 though. Nov 8 2006 was Window Vista's manufacturing release. Jan 30 2007 was the consumer release.

This is assuming the Vista version is the same. I didn't actually know that it came with Vista before just now.
