Would like to have a good read through to fully understand the route.

Interesting strats! I've gone ahead and made a discord server, just in the process of making it look nice and all that. Will update the page when I'm finished

Howdy all, discord server and load removal are being looked into.
TBH I've got some shit going on in personal life that i'm having to deal with so not much time atm.
Not got any experience in creating a load remover so it may take a lil bit

Thread: Rule Parity between PSP/PS2 versions?

Started by: PlywoodPlywood

Yeah I'm fine with it. The only reason I decided to start PSP from stage 1 is that when you skip the tutorial on new game it takes you back to stage select anyway, whereas ps2 takes you to the first stage.
Wasn't really anyone to discuss rules with back when the board was made 😂

Plywood seems to think so, I've not really tested anything in this game, I just did a run because I play through this game like once a year and figured I may as well time it 🙂
But with it being a rhythm game, the only real way to save time is just to play well, no notable 'speed-tech' as such.
If you could get this game into a GDQ though that would be fantastic 🙂

As far as I know time is on final input, so, on the button press, not Robin landing her fist

I don't personally run the category, but there is one trick called 'Quantum Leap' which goes OOB to skip a door when leaving Isi. On the other end though, air swimming is allowed as long as you remain in bounds, but as far as I know there isn't a use for that yet.

If you have any more questions, I'd recommend joining the discord. https://discord.gg/JdMTk

Do you have a video of you playing it? It's hard to give you advice without knowing how you're currently playing

Hey guys, leaderboard's updated now, I've moved everyone's runs to where they need to be.
Now we just need a few more runners 🙂

Didn't realise Gitaroo man was a rare game in the states, it's not too uncommon over here 🙂
I'll get the leaderboards separated over the weekend, provided Snappy and Atobe are cool with it.
Probably makes sense, as pcsx2's framerate isn't always accurate, which could affect any manual timing overall.

On another note, has anyone figured out any reliable "speed tech"? I've not tested too much myself, but I was wondering if anyone knew what caused for shorter sequences in the songs. I pretty much just play as well as I can and hope for the best.

Hey guys! Sorry for the late response, had no idea there was a conversation happening here. I'll probably end up splitting the categories, emu does have a huge advantage over console, but I left it merged to make the leaderboard a little more fleshed out, also my run is done on emu, so it felt a little hypocritical to not allow it.
What would you guys rather do? Split leaderboards, or manually time the loads and compare times using IGT?

So I managed to download an old version using the SteamDB method.
Gonna do some tests and find which version is fastest.
Let me know when you start doing runs, I'll help you out where I can, I've put far too much time into running this game so I can give you a good idea on how the tricks work. It'll probably only take you an hour or so to learn the route, and none of the tricks are too difficult (the corner jump around 3 minutes in is probably one of the trickiest)
