Thread: Best games to speedrun for beginners!

- Freedom Planet (as mentioned before)
- Celeste
- Jumper Two
- Prompt
- Super Meat Boy
- Boson X

I started with SMB a long time ago and it's really funny, you improve quite fast (at first you think something like "SMB is hard af ... I can't speedrun this lol" but then, after some practice "oh wait, I don't even need 5 minutes for the first chapter anymore") and the Glitches/Tricks are quite hard (imo ... this Brownie skip ... made it once xD).
But all in all it's really funny.

The others I saw at SGDQ and they seem funny and might need the same "skillset" as Super Meat Boy. So, if you're into platformer... give it a try... I'd recommend playing at least Super Meat Boy anyway 🙂. Edmund McMillen is an awesome guy!

I hope that I helped you at least a bit haha 😃.

It would be enough if he maps the Reset Hotkey on the Select/Back Button or something, so the player can reset the actual stage/map. I think it wouldn't be that comfortable to map a hotkey for each stage/map ^^.

A level selection screen and a fast reset button will do it aswell I think.

MSi Afterburner. Camtasia sucks quality wise (MainConcept ...). I'd strongly recommend MSi Afterburner since you can choose your codec and so on. Bandicam shouldn't be that bad anymore but it's resource-wise not the best afaik.

DxTory if you want to spend some money, this program is nice aswell ^^.

Yeah! A hotkey would be totally awesome. This wouldn't interrupt the game flow! Very nice idea 😃. He should definetly implement this.

Does "Ability to reset levels instantly" mean aswell that you can load up every level u want after passing them? Because I personally like it to practice every individual level sometimes (especially with bosses and glitches and so on...).

- Gothic 1, Gothic 2 (+ Night of The Raven)
- Distance
- Poi (Early Access... quite glitchless actually ^^)
- Psychonauts

Maybe take a look at Kinguin/G2A or an other Key Store and look for something you like... maybe you'll find a nice game to run 🙂.

Learning a bit Ratchet & Clank: Size Matters on emulator till the PS3 copies arrive in my postbox 😃. Want to run Into The Nexus, maybe the first or second one and maybe Quest for Booty ... size matters is really funny to run (sad that not every glitch seems to work on emulator :x), but it's sometimes really frustrating... I should practice more often 😃.

I ran Super Meat Boy and Nitronic Rush a long time ago. Maybe I'm running Distance (the "sequel" to Nitronic Rush) in the future ... who knows xD.

What about PPSSPP as PSP Emulator?

But I have to say that in case of Ratchet & Clank: Size Matters some glitches don't work with the european version (like the WR holder should have ...). I didn't figured out why yet 😕.
