Regarding the AutoSplitter, I have just made a few changes to it. Reason was that sometimes it would not split correctly. This might even fix your issue. If LiveSplit does not prompt you that it was updated, delete the "TheSufferingPrisonIsHell.asl" file from your components folder in the LiveSplit directory and restart LiveSplit. After that, open the edit splits menu and enable the AutoSplitter. |

Hey there, you should be able to add them by right clicking somewhere on LiveSplit -> Edit Layout -> Timer -> Detailed Timer. If you are talking about the AutoSplitter. It currently has some bugs, but I will update it in the next few days. That might also resolve the issues. Feel free to hit me up on Discord though, then we might be able to fix it for you as well. |

Hey everyone, I would like to add a small information to the glitchless ruleset because I discovered something today that I dont think is known. In chapter 9 "Oblivion Regained" once you leave a cave, there is a flashback with the inmates hanging the CO's. This flashback can be skipped by just walking on the right side, and also keeping your camera to the right (not looking at the tree, ideally in first person because your FOV is way smaller). I think this should be allowed because it does not require you to do weird tricks like in chapter 17 in the other categories where you have to jump around the cutscene trigger at the tree, and this is 100% consistent as well. Video for reference: (flashback visible at 10:00), again just walk on the right side and keep your camera to the right. This however has no use in other categories because it its always skipped. |

Im not sure if we should allow runs like this to be honest. Other games set a limit just to make sure that more powerful PC's do not get more advantage. I am not a fan of creating even more categories in this game because I think at this point it has more than enough. In my opinion we should just let it as it is (60 fps?) It seems to tedious and I dont know if you can let the game run at 1000 fps and be able to save a lot of seconds if not minutes. Would also like to know if this really does not improve running speed. Because if it does it is a clear no go from me. I wrote Yuma and Wh1teLight, but did not get an answer to this yet. I want to do my final runs for this game and now I dont know if this will even be allowed in the future. |

Even though this thread is very old I still think some sort of Discord for ObsCure 1 and ObsCure 2 would be cool. Makes it way easier to communicate and keep the game a little bit alive. |

Something I wanted to add here: I figured out why my game was glitching around with npcs, getting stuck etc. |

Yes I had the same thing happening to me, after the first truck segment theres like a 50% chance that you might just end up in nothing and have to restart checkpoint, should be totally fine. I agree with the pavillion skip, we allowed it in the first game so I would say we will allow it here too. |

Very nice, I will also do my run soon. One thing that I would like to ask you Droogie, do you think we should not allow the pavillion jumps in chapter 6? It feels very tedious for a glitchless run and I am not sure if we should allow it, but on the other hand we allow simillar things in The Suffering 1, for example climbing on the ship. I think that would be the last thing that we need for the rules. Also are you using the AiO patch? I am using the GoG version and the unpatched version crashes a lot, npcs have problem finding their way, which results in the player unable to continue the game, somethings getting stuck in the level geometry (mostly when you roll through somewhere and you fall down, you are stuck in the wall) and more things. The AiO patch fixes most of those problems and also allows you to choose higher resolutions. I think for a glitchless run it should be allowed. I put it in the Ressources tab. |

Very nice, I will also do a run in near future, then we do not have an empty board. Now would also be the best time to create a ruleset for it. I will have a look at it tomorrow again but for now I suggest the usual: - No door clipping. What I think should be allowed is jumping to spots that might not be dev-intended but dont skip anything big. For example in Chapter 9 in the boat section you can perform a jump from the boxes to reach a platform where you normally have to use a lever. I think that is fine. What I am not sure of is the jumping sequence done in chapter 6 where we jump over the pavillion. We allowed jumping up on the ship in The Suffering 1 so Im not sure about if we should allow it here aswell. |

Hey everyone! I know this game does not have many players at the moment at all, but would anyone be interested in a glitchless category? Greetings |

I know this thread is a little older but I would also like a 100% category. But I'm not sure how many new categories would have to be made for this (1 Controller, 2 Controller, Coop etc.). For 100% I would say collect all collectibles, kill all enemies and have all characters survive. We would have to find a rule how to treat enemies that respawn, like the big monster in the Prologue but I think that shouldnt be a problem. |

Alright, the voting is over and here are the new rules: The following is not allowed: - Going out of bounds or leaving the level geometry. Allowed: - Using smaller shortcuts that are not dev intended (e.g. jumping over the lights at the end of chapter 3 to skip climbing the ladder, or jumping on the box, and then over the fence in chapter 20 after you extinguished the fire). |

With me running the game as well i will also vote. - Skipping dialogue by saving and loading, or manually reloading a checkpoint / dying. (No) |

Sorry for the late response. My suggestion is that i will group up all the points in this discussion, and we will do a vote about it. I will suggest now that we will just vote about the following things. Please give me a yes or a no for each line. Yes to allow it, and no to not allow it. What will be banned so far: What will be voted by you: If you have anything to add please let me know. I would say we do the vote up to Wednesday midnight UTC time. Here is a countdown: https://www.timeanddate.com/countdown/vote?iso=20210512T235959&p0=%3A&msg=The+Suffering+Glitchless+ruleset+voting&font=cursive |

Hey everyone! I understand what you mean droogie. The reason i made a run is because i thought the forum was pretty much dead and no one would respond in near time. We can vote on what is allowed and what not, and i have no problems to withdraw my run and do another one. The ruleset wasnt, and still is not written out, and i thought using the lunge to skip a few parts is okay. So the following things are now known and i think we all agree upon: - Going out of bounds is not allowed. What needs a vote: In my opinion using the lunge is fine because the game allows you to reach those areas without going out of bounds. Also the ship skip should be fine because it does not go out of bounds. So imo the last two points should be okay. But as i said a voting will decide. Unfortunately we dont have a discord server so i guess we have to do it here. |

Here is my suggestion for the glitchless ruleset: - Going out of bounds is not allowed. I think that would be a good compromise so the dev intended route is mostly maintained. |

Hey everyone! With the addition of a full glitchless category i want to ask what exactly is considered glitchless and what not. With the last post in the previous thread, the community should decide on what is ok. I want to do runs for the game and am not sure about some things. I will give my opinion to it here and would like to hear yours. What should not be allowed: What should be allowed: What I am not sure of: Also: - 23:39 even tho i mentioned i think those jumps should be ok, this one skips a cutscene and an event. I hope we can get a clear ruleset soon so newer players like me know what to look out for in the run. |
