@TransparentBlueTransparentBlue
The legacy category seems a good idea.
Contacting runners will probably take a bit of time, not sure if they care about this but let's try it.
Thanks for the suggestion.

@Oreo321Oreo321
The context is that 4 years ago some guy wanted to speedrun Adibou because it was funny to speedrun a game we played as kids 20 years ago. Other people did it too, but none of the runs are optimized, they just did it for fun, not really to seriously try to have the best time possible.
In September 2019, one runner introduced the prerun set-up, the run was accepted by one mod that apparently didn't think much about this strat. And once you accept one run with this strat, you can't really reject the new runs submitted doing th same thing.
One mod (first runner) didn't login for the past 3 years, another one for the last 5 months and the other mod doesn't really care about those questions and doesn't review the runs.
And about me, I submitted a run in May but seeing that there were no mod left for this game (I knew people submitted runs many months ago and were stil waiting) I asked to be mod.

The problem with this run is that it’s totally arbitrary and since the rules were not clear from the beginning, we now have (most/all) runs that don’t really make sense.

So what should we do? I guess deleting all the runs is not an option. We could create a new « true 100% », fixing the problems we have now but it doesn’t change the fact that this existing category has no consistency.

I would appreciate your opinion on this matter, especially if you know similar situations that happened in the past.

We also have a problem with the kitchen minigame. When you enter the kitchen for the first time, you have a 20 seconds monologue, wasting a lot of time for the runner. So one runner got the idea of going in the kitchen to activate this monologue before starting its run. This way, he sets up the run before starting it. Considering that the run for the game is just « complete six minigames in the order you want », it’s not breaking any rule, but is it a legit move nontheless? Of course, by saving 20 secondes, he got the WR and now his strategy is reproduced by everybody running the game. There are currently three runs (on a total of 12) using this technique, should we remove them (even though the previous WR starting this has been accepted almost 2 years ago)?

But the runs on sp.com have other problems. In a minigame where you have to plant seeds in the ground, the player has to plant 5 columns of vegetables. The first column can contain 3 seeds and the others can have 6 seeds. Here again, for no specific reason, all the runners plant only 5 seeds in the columns containing 6 spots, meaning the minigame is not complete.

Adibou 2 is a game for kids on PC from the 90’s. But more importantly, it’s an educational game, so it doesn’t have a beginning or end. It’s just a bunch of minigames and activities kids can play.

Its first speedrun was done 4 years ago, kind of like a joke, so with no specific rules in mind.
The problem is that the runs on sp.com are considered 100 %, but it’s not a real 100 %, I don’t even know what it could mean to do a 100 % run with this kind of games. For example, in the game there are short cartoons and music videos, should we watch them to pretend we did a 100 % run? There is also a mini game that has not been included in the run for no specific reason.

Thread: Adibou 2 game page is abandoned, what to do?

Started by: Naoki38Naoki38

Hi all,

I've submitted a run yesterday for Adibou 2 but I've seen that some people have submitted runs many months ago (more than 5) and it's still pending, there is basically no mods for this game (there are actually three mods but 2 of them didn't log in for a year and the other one doesn't seem to check runs).
So what do we do?
The problem with this game is that the rules to speedrun it are very specific, it's actually an educational game so there is no start and end, which means that not anybody can check the runs and determine if it's acceptable or not.

So what to do?

have two solutions:
- I can give to a mod the list of things to check to know if the run is valid or not (the run is 9 min long so not too much things to check).
- The game is mainly played by French players (since it's a French game) and there is a French streamer that runs the game. She is also in contact with people that know this speedrun well, so if you give them mod access to the game they could check the runs, they could even do it live on Twitch. If this is a possibility, I can check with them if they are ok to do it.

Another solution would be to give me the mod status (I'm already moderator for another game) BUT I have to say that I submitted a WR run for this game so someone else would have to check and accept my run anyway.

In any case, it would be great to solve this situation.

Thanks.

Hi,
After waiting more than 3 weeks, the game I've submitted has been rejected because I had only one contact method on my profile. Nowhere it was indicated we needed at least two contact methods. So what am I supposed to do now? Resubmit the game again now that I have added my YT channel on my profil?

@DerDerDerDer Same, I submitted a game on March 14th and it's still pending, we just have to wait I guess.
