By the way there are some skips that I do in my run that are not in the record, like Stucky skip, or Car keys. They generally don't save a lot of time and are tricky to do, but that's something to look into if you're interested 😛

Wow I've never seen that one 😮
Maybe it has to do with the enemy being close to you and pushing you through the wall ? I don't know.
And you could finish the mission ? This game has a tendency to softlock when you skip things 😛

To run the game (with the strats I use, at least) you need to downpatch the game to an earlier version.

Yeah Individual levels are basically NG+, or whatever state you want. That being said, doing them in a new game might still be faster because of the way uploading and checkpoints work so... 😛

I guess NG+ could be a thing yeah, playing all missions in order.
For Altai Mountains the IL is just the normal level, without the tutorial section at the beginning.
The thing with upload I noticed as well, don't know if that's intended, but yeah that's how it works.
For proving grounds I debated even removing it, I guess it has to be a New Game level anyways, because otherwise it's just running to the exit in 5s 😛

As for DLCs I just assumed not using any is the way to go, but I'm not sure they would change anything anyway

Well you get to the spot, crouch and throw the Bigger Bomber on the ground, and it launches you into the air. You need to be on hard difficulty (for combat) to get enough height from the explosion.

There are no glitches really, just a few skips; the only exception probably is you can quickly get out of vehicles if you hit the door on something as you start the exit animation, it just warps you on top of the car.
Otherwise it's mostly about managing your movement
I think for most of the run you can just watch a run and copy what you see, it's pretty straightforward;there were a few tricks tduva didn't use (like the Stucky skip) but I wouldn't worry about them too much as they're pretty tricky and don't save that much time.

Don't hesitate if you have a question about a specific part of the run!

Not to be nitpicky but the interaction between those two rules is very strange :

"Graphics Settings may only be changed at Boss fights to allow higher/consistent framerate."
"The limit on pausing is 2 mins."

So you can pause the game at any moment (but no more than 2mins) for any reason EXCEPT if it's to change your graphical settings, then the run is instantly rejected... what ?

I think the 2mins rule just supersedes the first one, which isn't needed anymore

I think the problem with the stairskating is not so much the rhythm, but that you're holding aim too long, you should really just tap it. Holding it too long kills your momentum 🙂

From the testing I've done on that call Italian was faster by like 0.1 second, but even that is in the margin of error, so really it doesn't matter at all 😛

I'm all for the 60fps NoOob & Anything goes categories, I think it's the cleanest way to please the most people, with 2 very different aspects of the run, and the majority will be able to reach 60fps so that shouldn't be a problem.

Hi ! I submitted a run for SGW2 which used a lot of new strats, saving a lot of time!
I was planning on making a tutorial but I never got around to it, so if you have any questions don't hesitate!
First some general advice, use the pistol whenever possible, it's very OP and way faster than the rifle. You can also switch to the pistol to skip the "bolt action" animation after shooting, allowing to start sprinting immediately. Also, you can use F9 to reload the last checkpoint instead of going through the menu ! (it will refill your health but not stamina)
Most of the strats are pretty obvious by just looking at the run, since it's a lot of running and avoiding fights, but some might be harder to get (especially the Oobs in 1-2 & 2-3, the "patrol skip" in 2-1 where you rush into the bush, the rush through the square with the wall jump in 3-3...).
If you're trying to replicate some stuff but having a hard time, pay attention to the details of the movement, where I crouch, sprint, what angle I use, what lines I take etc... It can be a bit precise sometimes, but once you have a setup it's easy. Again, don't hesitate to ask if you need more info 🙂

I also did a run of the DLC, Siberian Strike:
It would be nice to add it as a category 🙂
