Thread: Reminder: Video proof is required

Started by: Mingura666Mingura666

We would like to remind to all the players that video proof is important. It not only represents your accomplishments but also provides friendly competitiveness as other players may try to learn from others.

Please refrain from deleting the video proof as it may result in leaderboard removal.

Thread: Is there a Difference between NTSC and PAL Version?

Started by: Geek007Geek007

(edited: )

[Matt Parker's Stand-up Maths YouTube video](https://youtu.be/3GJUM6pCpew) is very friendly to understand the technical differences between PAL and NTSC. Although it may be out of the scope of your question, it may help you have a better understanding on the NTSC-PAL differences and therefore understand why it has an impact on console gaming. Differences go beyond FPS.

EDIT: Nice way to post a link LUL

Thread: How do you properly framecount?

Started by: twin0megatwin0mega

I mod the category extensions of Super Mario World (GBA) and I posted a video on how I verify runs. The game and timing rules may be different but the process is the same. I hope this helps you!

Thread: How to record.

Started by: Mingura666Mingura666

I've bought this game years ago and for some reason I thought it would be a good idea to run it, the thing is that there's no way I can record a run that for sure will last for 3 or more hours. I was thinking on maybe use my Lighting to HDMI cable to put the video on a TV and using another camera to record my TV, wound it be allowed?

I'm thinking of this because my iPhone is only 32 GBs and there's no way it can fit a 3+ hour screen record video. The Lightning to HDMI adapter provides no advantage and its purpose is to output my iPhone screen to a TV and I can use another camera (with more storage) to record the run.

I have no interface to output my iPhone screen to my PC (or even to my old Mac) to record the screen either. This idea I had it's my only choice for now unless I find some way to work around this.

Thread: Why

There is a bug (I don't know if this is the proper way to call this thing) when you click on "submit" your run, if for some reason you click "submit" again before the pop-out window appears telling you that a mod needs to verify your run the submit duplicates.

It has happened to me in other leaderboards and it looks like the site hasn't fixed it.

Thread: Pellsson ROM

Started by: LightsaverLightsaver

What you download is a patch and you need a software named Lunar IPS. You have to use that software to select the patch and patch a clean standalone rom of SMB1 (not those 2-in-1 or 3-in-1 or fds roms). After you patch it you'll get a new .nes ROM that you can open on your emu. If it glitches out maybe you're not patching a clean standalone SMB1 rom.

Thread: Are NES USB Controllers Allowed for Speedrunning?

Started by: LightBrownWolfLightBrownWolf

I don't see why not, many emulate and use their keyboards so as long as the USB controller doesn't have any turbo or up+down things, it should be fine.

Thread: Possible FR Save to Get to 4:53

Started by: RealTPVRealTPV

I'm not the right person to answer because I don't understand those subspeed, subpixel things. But I always wondered if it's possible to do something like in 4-1 get a fast accel at the start and during the course of the level do quick turnarounds under blocks so Mario clips inside them and gets pushed to the right a little bit (similar to the old 3-bump method) that way Mario gets to the flag sooner, then a FPG.

I'm pretty sure that messes up setups on the things I don't understand from the game, but I just wondered if it's possible to clip inside certain blocks to get pushed to the right and get to the flag faster. Clipping inside the blocks would be similar to when you do a fast powerup grab from underneath.

Thread: can i use OBS color key to filter out black?

Started by: yeabruhyeabruh

It looks really cool but I'd try to record with and without the filter just in case. You're not modifying the game so I guess it should be fine (?). Maybe I'd stream with the filter just for the cool looks but submit runs with the original unfiltered recording.

Thread: what does mean back to back in 121 exit?

Started by: xXJulianbrito_YTXx3xXJulianbrito_YTXx3

Sí, lo dice en las reglas, específicamente en la tercera regla: "All rules of 11 exit Goals apply", y una de las reglas de 11 Exit Goals es iniciar la run desde un archivo nuevo.

In the context the equivalent of "back to back" in Spanish would be "seguidas".

"11 times back to back" would be "11 veces seguidas".

Yes, you can pause on any category, but the time you waste on pause will count in your final time.
