Yes, ever since this leaderboard has existed, original version and HD edition runs have lived side-by-side. I don't know of many differences between runs arising from the HD edition, but I don't think anything warrants split categories.

go into your bios and find a setting that changes the function keys to actually input F1, F2, F3 etc. without the need of Fn instead of the media keys. the name of the setting would depend on the bios you got but it should be there

Post videos of you taking off in a VCN Helicopter (holding W) with closing the door, and a rough approximation of your framerate uncapped + your CPU and GPU. I used dxtory to see my framerate but it wasn't captured, but ideally framerate would be shown.

e.g.:
Approximately 100-120 fps. Intel Core i7-2600, GTX 650.

I never really cared about the community consensus to ban turning off the frame limiter and just adhered to it. However, in the past year I've begun taking the opposite stance and today some conversation between some of us runners has arisen again on the topic, so may as well see what people think now, and how big of an advantage one's system specs would give if this rule were removed. This, as far as I know, was the single reason as to why the rule existed to begin with, but we may as well see the actual difference for ourselves.

edit: I'm wrong, 100 fps compared to 300 fps is a bigger difference in gameplay than I figured, but I stand with the rest of my points.

Removing this rule would bring new routing opportunities to the three major categories (aka faster), with all the pros and cons of having frame limiter on or off. Off, and your game will crash more often and behave more unpredictably (to us) with regards to physics, with faster heli takeoffs and slower boat movement and whatever else. On, and everything is normal, with slower heli takeoffs and whatever else. It's definitely worth more exploration. Besides, we allow using ramdisks and SSDs to improve load times, so complaining about pay to win is not a valid argument.

Post your videos/thoughts below.

Seems to only load them all when you're signed in but everyone should have a Google account anyway.
Dropbox still whines at me for having too much traffic when I haven't linked anything on there for years so this is the way to do it I guess.

Hotel distance was bad; I wasn't residing in one this time around but it was pretty annoying when going to room parties. I don't think there's anything that can be done though, since the Fortnox Arena is so good for its price and size afaik.

The hosts could've been less accepting about which donations to read. During one of the runs I commentated, there was a meme going on with the donations, which is usually fine (hell, it's coming from Twitch chat), but it was getting out of hand and the hosts felt obliged to read them I guess. I also read complaints about other issues with various hosts on Twitter, so maybe there could be some more "host training" or something for next year. Not putting the blame on any particular people, but just something that should be improved upon.

Burger King delivery was great. I only used it once but it's one hell of a convenience.
Tech was definitely an improvement on last year as well.
The second stream was done really well (from what I saw) this time around, compared to ESA15. Getting its own room helped a lot. The room in general is pretty cozy too, especially cause of the kitchen in the back.

The arcades were hella fun too, while they were around. Lots of demand on Quick 'n' Crash so I didn't spend much time on that, but I got some quality time on Daytona USA.

All in all, an event well done. Good work, organizers/volunteers.

No new category imo. If people want a run without this then they can do ASL. I don't think this is big enough to warrant another any% offshoot since it probably won't just be doing wharf district 7 times or whatever cause of it being slow.

I never ran ASL but banning main menu storage seems kinda redundant since you'd have to do all the story levels anyway. May as well allow it for skipping them cutscenes.

I got pac to remove oasiz/ligh/shanz from VC within a few minutes, so you're doing something wrong.

And yeah, I guess I haven't been doing all that much. The past however any months have had me too busy with edumacation to care about going on speedrun.com. However, I would be active right now if my internet situation let me watch videos.

If you still want to unmod me then it's whatever though.

1) Yeah, but the thing is, there aren't really any scenarios for which switching between 1.0 and 1.0a would be worth going through all that for. 1.0a has a glitch that crashes the game upon loading a save with a projectile in it, so what I did was go RoR1.0 through the whole thing and then switch to 1.0a for the final RoR demo campaign, since that one crashes upon loading on 1.0 for some reason. (I don't even know if those should be included, technically, but that's the way it's been).

2) Yes.

This is almost as bad as the people who say "Trump should be impeached for being a known misogynist and racist" even though his snide style of speech doesn't bar him from the position. DV says he would've fixed any leaderboard issues if he was alerted to them only after he's removed as a mod; before that, he only tried justifying being lazy. As far as I know, ryedawg has done just fine in the past couple of days as a mod of the leaderboard. I suggest everyone just suck it up and keep playing the games because any issues that there were before have been ironed out by ryedawg's actions as a mod. If he does anything objectionable, THEN you bring it up, NOT complain in response to losing your precious sword.

It's all over the place so if Twitch yells at us then I'd suggest we yell at them. Don't think there'd be repercussions if they did yell at us though but maybe

I'd say remove em all (sorry goddie tyr and xonton) and replace them with emotes that, as mentioned above, pertain more to GTA itself. As long as we can get away with it, we could even make reactionary faces out of protagonists. I imagine using CJ's face like Bosz has as his profile pic in a bunch of places could be a good one; dunno how to describe how I'd interpret it, a picture is worth 1000 words.

Thread: Clean this up please

@s. Get back to me when someone actually cares about a run in which you get punched until you have 69 HP, or a run in which you just get run over by a car, one in which you just RNG a criminal being chased by a cop and punch him, or one in which you just do over half of any% that has no value in being done as practice or as a race anymore. The other ones are at least somewhat worth keeping imo.

Also, I don't care about how short the run is, I care about how pointless it is. As I said, I can't imagine that somebody actually cares about the 69 HP run, for example. Why make this board in the first place if it'll just be a garbage dump of stuff nobody cares about? Let me know if someone actually gave you input on this by saying "please add 69 HP for Vice City" or "please add Low% Bad Ending".

Yes, it's hidden, and I can just not give a fuck about it. That's what I was doing until it hit me that it could be renovated to be category extensions that are actually worth something. There should be some quality control on what's allowed to be a category, which I think you mentioned somewhere, so that it would exactly not be filled with all sorts of random garbage. The point here as I understand it is not to fill it with things as dumb as 69 HP, but more things like 35/36 USJs, Any% Dupeless (isn't that almost the same as 7 assets?), All Assets (I gotta try that some time), and maybe even stuff like "earn $1000 from insane stunts alone" just to throw an idea.

About in-game hundo: good point, it would be better to retain peace by leaving it. Also, I had it in the rules for 100% at some point and it was not a clutter at all, lol. In the clarification that you must do everything that gives percentage, there were a couple extra words that function as a link right next to it. No problemo, but your point still stands about certain people really wanting it to be a leaderboard for some reason.
