Hello.
I was wondering if it is possible to make me a mod in this leaderboard: https://www.speedrun.com/Her_Story
The only mod there is online once every 4 months or so.
Thank you!

Just to make it clear, at the beginning of the text I say that what I say will include only FF7, 8, 9, 10, 10-2 and 12.
Again: only FF7, 8, 9, 10, 10-2 and 12.
If the rest of FF games want to take in consideration these rules, they are free to do it, but I don't want to change the rest of FF games.

MOD EDIT: Contrary to the title of this post, these are merely a set of suggestions for discussions, and not rules going into effect across the series.

Thread: .: AutoFire :.

Started by: LuzbelheimLuzbelheim

Hello mates, my 1:57 run has been rejected because I used AutoFire (I didn't try to hide it, you can clearly see how I activate/desactivate it).
So that means that AutoFire (Turbo) is not allowed for this game, which I agree, it shouldn't be allowed.
Now here is the problem:
I noticed that Zackcat (the first in this leaderboard) and Token use emulator and AutoFire on A.
I did a run with normal mashing (my mashing is pretty decent), other with Turbo 15Hz., other with Turbo 30 Hz. and other with AutoFire from the emulator, and I could only do the same time with AutoFire (if you do the comparison you will see that the text and the options are skipped/selected exactly at the same time).

In fact, Zackcat has the AutoFire activated when he restarts the emulator, that's why he skips the previous screen and starts the run that fast.
If you activate AutoFire and you reset the Emulator, you can see how you skip the firsts screens at the same time as Zackcat.

Also, I think it's pretty obvious that people are using AutoFire basically because my whole run with AutoFire, with fast option selection, is only 2-3 tenths faster than Zackcat's run (and that's with perfect text skip).

If you have doubts about this, just do the comparisons with AutoFire.

Nothing more to say. Thanks.

That's not true mate.
When you hit the rope at the end, there are 6 explosions and when you hit the rope in the middle, there are 5 explosions.
The thing is that sometimes you can get 4 explosions, but I don't know why.

I keep burning the rope faster than WR but the monster explodes slower.
Even with that I finally got a 34.60s., but I think I'm not gonna submit it because this game is really inconsistent with the times, haha.

Thank you for your time mate!

Well, to be honest it seems hard to be accurate with the time.
I did some tests timing from when the flame disappears until the HP bar of the boss is totally black (burning the rope at the same distance as the WR) and I keep getting different times.
Sometimes it takes 4.30s., 4.35s., 4.16., 4,45s., etc.
Also, I have a run where I burn the rope 0.10s. faster than the WR burning the rope almost at the end and then I lose 0.32s until the white letters appears.

I don't know where we can put the final split since I don't know all the variables that affect the time.
In theory after you burn the rope the time should be the same for all, but the distance where you burn the rope seems to affect a little bit (although burning the rope at the same distance gives different times).

What do you think?

Hello mates.
I just wanted to say that after doing some comparisons I saw that the time from when you hit the rope with the flame until the end appears is different.
I don't know what causes the differences but for example for me it takes 12.86s. while the WR only takes 12.33s. and the second best time takes 12.50s.

I played the game on a website (that was really slow), then I downloaded the game (that saved me some time), and then I did the comparisons.
I don't know if I'm missing something but it's okay, haha.

That's all mates, see you later!
