Thread: Speedrun Timer

Started by: GrumpDaZumbieGrumpDaZumbie

The in-game timer is not what should be used to dictate your time. You should be using an external timer for your runs. Most people recommend Livesplit, which does include an automatic splitter for your segments, but any stopwatch timer works for timing your runs.

Thread: Small FAQ

Started by: LaurieDBunnykinsLaurieDBunnykins

Hey! So for speedAAAAAAAAAAthon, we have a few guidelines to think of when submitting! Feel free to read below:

-Races and co-op showcases must be limited to only two people. Sorry if you wanted to do 3 or 4 player something, we're going to be restricting that.

-Try to make your availability as accurate as possible. We have a super small amount of time to work with here, and more accurate availabilities would just make things easier for us.

-If you have an incentive, please tell us if it would be completed either during or after the run, so we can plan extra time accordingly.

That's all for now, but if you have any questions, please ask them below and I will try to answer ASAP!

If you'd like to make one, go for it! The mods will see it and if they like it then they can add it!

That might've something Cosmoing changed when I made them a mod of this game, and the rules may not have been updated to reflect that. This being the only real DS game I mod, I didn't want video requirement due to knowledge of how hard/expensive it can be to get a credible DS vid, but for now if you can try your hardest to get a video of acceptable quality on your phone or smth then that would be best.

I meant to change Cosmoing from a Leaderboard Mod to a Super Mod on Mario Party: Star Rush and accidentally made myself a Leaderboard Mod, removing all Super Mods. Can you please make Cosmoing a Super Mod?

I have no idea what NTR is, as someone who is not primarily a speedrunner of 3ds games.

The category is being renamed because I realize I messed up. I’m fixing rules as well now.

So one game of Coinathlon is 10 races. So a 3 round run is completing 3 of those races. 5 round run is 5 races, so on.

A few more answers to questions that will inevitably be asked:

I will be providing the timer

As of right now I’m looking at up to four players being possible for races. No more than that.

Same rule as above goes for co-op. 4 max.

You are allowed to have a co-commentator.

Yeah, that’s the speedrun path people have been using for a bit now. Good to see you have the thought to find that yourself, though! Go fast!

NSB and ATP I agree with, but I also like the 171 ng+ type category you mentioned

Hello, sorry, I forgot to check this board for a bit.

Coinathlon is definitely a hard mode, and I’ll make sure to implement your suggestion once I’m home! I’ll probably be setting up runs for Rounds 3, 5, 7, and 10, since any other numbers seems a bit arbitrary to me.

Thanks for the suggestion!

If you submit a multiple person run, you have "Player 2" and "Player 3" spaces (and so on with the numbers) to enter their speedrun.com account. For their video, put it in the run description
