Esta leaderboard opera com o intúito de distinguir categorias com base nos critérios que constituem a tradicionalidade do speedrun, basicamente, separar categorias "memes" (ex.: Cheat%, Knife Only, etc.) de categorias moralmente superiores (New Game Pro, New Game+ Normal, etc.). Quanto as categorias presentes nessa board, foram definidas individualmente com subcategorias que atendem as necessidades básicas. |

Existem ferramentas para a remoção de Loadings em Console (Console LRT), sendo as externas, podendo ser integradas com as funções de Hotkeys, ou por script componente do Livesplit, reconhecendo a tela de loading e pausando o timer durante ela. Porém, todas apresentam uma série de problemas: 1. Os LRT de Consoles Necessitam de um feed com a captura do jogo sendo exibida na tela do PC para funcionar, e essa captura não pode ser coberta por outro programa, nem colocada em segundo plano, caso isso aconteça, o LRT para de funcionar. Sendo assim, o runner é obrigado a ter uma forma de captura da tela do jogo para o PC, e que seja ininterrúpta. 2. Os Removedores de Loadings para Console não são 100% precisos, geralmente, os removedores trabalham com uma correspondência de vetor e reconhecimento da imagem baseado em suas propriedades (cor, saturação, brilho, etc.), após reconhecer a imagem do feed do jogo, ele envia o comando de Hotkey que corresponde á mesma Hotkey que para o cronômetro no Livesplit, e envia o comando para continuar o timer após a imagem sair. Embora seja útil em outros jogos, no Resident Evil 4 não existe uma forma consistente de remoção por tal software, já que as portas de transição do cenário possuem pequenas variações de fade out antes do loading e que não são reconhecidas pelo removedor. 3. A configuração do removedor é individual, não tem como disponibilizá-lo já pronto para uso, já que ele exige um setup para reconhecimento da imagem através de uma captura (screenshot) que fica salvo no diretório. Apresentado esses pontos, eu acredito que a utilização de um removedor não resultaria em um crescimento da comunidade e sim numa burocracia maior para aprovação das runs, além de uma controversia em potencial, visando a administração de recordes já presentes e a possível necessidade de rejeição retroativa dos mesmos, além do debate sobre a exigência do LRT para novas runs. Portanto, uma das grandes vantagens do Console é simplesmente ligar o jogo com o cronômetro e fazer a run sem setups adicionais, nem a necessidade de ferramentas/equipamentos de terceiros. |

Just a random runner comment passing through but, wouldn't be better if the main categories were divided by Dynasties like they are in other DW games instead of individual characters? just pick the best from each Dynasty and play with them, along with that, NG/NG+ and Any%/All Objectives could be added as subcategories. |

Hey @Cl9000Cl9000, I've got into speedrunning Gungrave games over the past few weeks, even made a speedrun of Overdose: I've noticed the categories seem a bit messy and the game never had speedrun activity over it, so i'm proposing to become a moderator of it in an attempt to change that, in addition, would be highly appreciated if you could add me as Series Mod instead, as i look forward to speedrun Gungrave: G.O.R.E. as well. Just a quick suggestion, wouldn't be better if we had some pop up system to reinforce the rules everytime someone submits a run? like, once the person click "Submit Run" the site automatically pops up the rules with a saying on top like "Consider reading the rules first/before submitting" or something like it. One of the main reasons why we don't have Difficulty restrictions is because there is no effective strategy for it, basically, MKX speedruns on higher difficulties are just the same as casual gameplays, you beat your opponent, get beaten up, takes tons of minutes on one guy and then move on, i don't see this as a speedrun, honestly. |

Hello Everyone, Recently came to my knowledge that the previous approved WR on 30-Man Royal Rumble made by 'Maiden5' was an emulator run without using frame limiter, which makes the run definetely impossible to be beaten by normal means, with that said, the run had to be rejected, because first of all, it's basically cheating (i'm not saying it was Maiden5's intention, but i don't see any other gentle term to describe it), and second, this being as an attempt to reinstate competition to the leaderboard since Royal Rumble categories are short and more interesting for newcomers. 1. Turning OFF Frame Limiter is prohibited. List Of Allowed Emulators PSP - PPSSPP 1.4.2 or higher Note - Runs submitted before september 14th, 2019 will be excused from the rule above. PS3 and X360 emulations are not allowed. Note that these rules are being implemented in order to improve the legitimacy of future records, any suggestions or things to say, don't hesitate on doing it. Cheers. |

Hey, I have a run pending here: https://www.speedrun.com/mksm , the only active mod, 'TheKombatKing' was active 19 hours ago, but apparently he is ignoring my submission completely, since i've sent a discord message to him a month ago on the MK Discord Server about this pending run but no result 'till this day, would be better to have a moderator there that actually does the work. Hello People, In this thread i'll be addressing some of the changes the leaderboard got recently and also some upcoming ruleset update. Keep in mind that all of the future adaptations are to aim for the game to be 100% fair for everyone in terms of Speedrunning. TIME W/O LOADS ADDED The Time w/o Loads was added (in 03/14/2019) as the main timing method, this being because 99% of the leaderboard is made out of emulator runs and some of them using PSXJin 2.0.2 that provides fast loadings (even faster than console), it's a great emulator, however, major loading time differences may occurr between runners and it's also minimally affected by the PC Specs, even if your configuration is the same as another runner. With that being said, time w/o loads are required from now on. I will be providing a Load Remover on the "Guides" section within 24 hours, with this tool you will be able to remove your loads automatically w/o having to go through a frame-by-frame analisys or making any kind of manual stuff, still, if a runner prefer to remove manually then do it. Any run submitted without "Time w/o Loads" will take a lot more time to be approved. RUNS WITHOUT AUDIO It's commonly known that runs w/o audio looks pretty suspicious, but recently came to my knowledge that turning off the game sound via emulator config affects not just the loading times, but the overall game speed aswell. An upcoming rule that shall be applied is that runs without game audio will no longer be accepted, as we (moderators) cannot take the risk of approving cheated runs. Please note that all of the currently accepted runs without audio will remain verified as they are completely beatable. For anyone that is currently speedrunning the game or might have the interest of doing it in the future, i suggest to keep an eye out on the game rules for the next few days and if you have any questions, please feel free to ask down below. Yo @BadNewsNate! So, difficulty was never a driving factor to MKD's/MKA's Konquest, it's actually better to go for the easiest difficulty since we never had a consistent strat for Konquest fights, so difficulty not matter. GL on future runs! |
