Boa Tarde,

https://i.imgur.com/akdRxtN.png

https://www.speedrun.com/The_Site/thread/qkvjz

It's the simplest way to prevent splicing, and the rule is not just for the WR.

Much more organized, controversial and less interesting for the majority of the community that consider OPL an immoral practice, it's not because it seems "organized" that makes it the right way to do it, otherwise the +1700 PS2 leaderboards would be doing it as well.
Anyway, best of luck for everyone, i hope this situation ends soon and we go back to have some fun.

@GustavoPredator The only i know are God Of War Games, which are moderated by people who know nothing about Speedrunning (sorry for being rude, but it's true). You can't simply use one franchise over an entire plethora of different games to justify this point.

Hello,

I know you guys don't know me, which is a bit inconvenient, but i just came here to throw my 2 cents regarding this situation just to clarify everything, since my fellow Brazilian friends seem very confused and they are clearly new in speedrunning.
This entire discussion comes to 2 topics, which they are:

1. Why Wii and Playstation 2 are not saparated?
2. Why OPL is not allowed?

For the first question, i don't know, it's up to the moderators to decide which format is the best/optimal for the leaderboard to work. Although, i agree with separating them since Wii is naturally faster than PS2 and keeping both together sets up as a pay-to-win issue.

Now, for the OPL, there is nothing that can be done, the OPL, by it's own definition is an external program/software that can be applied to the PS2 and serves as a homebrew and allows to play games on different media/device formats (Hard Drive and USB Stick) which drastically affects many aspects of the game, mainly loading times.
This, in speedrunning, is considered Hardmodding/Softmodding, when you change the default values and/or aspects of a console in order to achieve an advantage over other people, therefore can be considered as cheating. Now, don't get me wrong on this one, the bad thing is not that OPL allows different functions, but your game is running with a superior performance that can't be achieved by someone who just took the console out of the box.
My opinion about it is that OPL should never be allowed in speedrunning, many have stated that "OPL is common in speedrunning nowadays" and that's completely false, it may be amongst casual players, but not in speedrunning. In fact, most of the PS2 leaderboards don't even allow PCSX2 for being too inaccurate and they are right, when speedrun comes to pay-to-win terms, we should always make the best decision to keep it fair play, and using OPL is not fair play, no one should be forced to mod their console (and even getting risk of breaking it) just to afford competing.

To conclude:

Wii separated from PS2? Yeah, seems fair, reasonable change.

Allow OPL? That's a BIG NO NO.

After every fight the IGT is shown on the bottom left side of the screen and can be seen until Shinnok's fight transition. The way the IGT works is quite simple, it only counts the time that has been spent during both rounds, so let's assume you took a fight against Shinnok, the default time for 1 round is 90 seconds, and all 3 rounds (also counting the Corrupted one) of the fight finished at 75, then the IGT becomes (90 - 75) x 3 = 45 + the IGT the game had already counted before the fight.
This has been tested and analyzed multiple times to asure that is an accurate method.

Hey @Tyler_Ry74Tyler_Ry74

So, the main reason for separating all platforms is to avoid any kind of discrepancies they can have, for instance, the Story Mode is timed via RTA, which displays a huge difference between platforms such as framerate and loading times to skip cutscenes. Also, one of the ideas to readjust the leaderboard this way was to make it look similar to the rest of the MK Series Leaderboards, so we can standardize everything in one single format.
At one point i've also considered adding additional variables such as console version (PS4 Slim, PS4Pro, etc.) and Hard Drive Type (HDD, SSD) but i don't think it's necessary for now.
The Leaderboard will stay like this.

Thread: Request leaderboard moderation (Read the first post before posting!)

Started by: DaravaeDaravae

Hey folks,

I'm currently having about 5 runs pending for over a month at: https://www.speedrun.com/reobf2 , the only mod of the game called @mrmaximus11mrmaximus11 has been inactive for 3 months now, i contacted him via Discord last week about the situation, but got no answer.
I just like to point out that i'm more concerned about the approval of my runs and not necessarily becoming a mod of the leaderboard.

Thanks in advance.

Quanto á sua idéia, completamente imbecil IMO, that's just my two cents ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Hello everyone,

So i just got back to speedrunning this game to improve my 2yo PB with new strats and i've noticed something strange on MalandroZueiro's run, his video proof it's actually one of siro's old PB, so he basically stole a run from another person, you guys can compare both of them:

"MalandroZueiro's" (06:06):

siro's old PB (06:06):

Would be nice to have MalandroZueiro's times removed.

Thanks in advance!

Well, make a Very Hard run first, then we'll see if it's reliable to be created, i'm not adding new categories just because of one person's request that haven't even touched the game yet, sorry.
