Thread: New years resolutions

Happy new year 2023 everyone! I bet that you forgot about this.
Last year we had some good resolutions, I think its time to look back and see if we managed to achieve our goals and continue with this years resolutions.
I have to admit that I did pretty terribly with the resolutions I put here. I have practically stopped speedrunning and Ive had trouble finding motivation to farm so I havent achieved 1K wrs, top 50 games or top 50 categories. I didnt go to the gym a lit, even though I started going more often, and I wasnt able to adapt to using an agenda so I have had to use alternative methods which worked for me (even though nothing works perfectly).
Regarding this year, Ill say that I have no idea what to expect this year, so I dont have any resolutions. Other years I wasnt sure but at least I had an idea about how the year was going to go, but thats not the case this year. Everything looks so uncertain, theres many things I have to work out, to know more about and a lot of things can go differently. I dont know to expect so I cant give myself resolutions because, even though I have many things to improve, I dont know what will happen and what Ill be able to do. I might give myself some goals irl, but nothing related to speedrunning or the community.

The ability to hear everything around you.
More than useless, it would be a curse. Youd never be able to sleep or relax and your brain would have a hard time processing all of it at the same time

Also being able to create fire in your hands (create a small flame). Sure, you dont need a lighter, but whats the point. Do you want to light a cigarrette? a barbaque? do you want to burn a building? If you have an accident and youre left stranded in a mountain or very cold place then sure, thats useful, but thats very specific.

5. Before saying anything, have you considered the fact that you have shown your sr.c profile in your instagram meaning that your friends could find that youve created this thread?
(I dont mean to be rude, I want to know if youre doing it because its not risky or bc nobody will care)

1. By A4 fanbase do you mean din A4 paper, audi A4 or something else?
2. Do you like the sound of your own language? Do you think it sounds better or worse than others like german, french, english or Spanish?
3. Are you currently in Russia or in another country?
4. Do you think that speedrunning is popular in your country? Is it something people know about or completely unknown to most? Do you think that it has become more mainstream in the last years?

I dont think that notifications for threads are a good idea in games like that. You cant disable notifications from specific threads

Hello robby, this game is very good and Im glad that it got accepted (finally, since it was rejected in 2021). The ILs have a lot of potential, however the board needs some improvements.

First of all, the division of IL categories in 10 level intervals seems a bit arbitrary which is a bit disappointing in my opinion. Now that there arent many runs you can still change the boards without a lot of trouble. I have a few suggestions:

IL changes:

• You can divide by worlds and in each world put each minigame with the corresponding levels. For example, youd make a World 1 IL and then all of the minigames (Mad drive world 1, recoil world 1 etc) as other ILs. That way the division wouldnt be that arbitrary, the board would look better and we would have a “full world” category. This, in my opinion, is the best way.

• You can do the same as before but instead of making each minigame a level you could make them a subcategory for the world level using variables. I dont suggest it though since its harder to navigate

• You can have each minigame separated (Mad drive, speed king, longcate) each of them as their own level and rename the categories to “Parts” so each category includes the levels of a minigame contained within a world. For example, mad drive part 1 would be the world 1 levels, speed king part 1 would be the world 2 levels etc. This wont look that good though.

Another thing that needs a change is the rules and this is a change that you can also apply to the other game you mod:

Full game rule changes:

• You dont need to mention that hacks arent allowed, its in the site rules
• In the game rules, you should add the video quality and framerrate requirements (you dont have to be very specific) and what things need to be shown (level counter, show you entering the first level of the run…) as well as wether or not audio is required.

• The current starting frame isnt very ideal as the level comes from fade out to fade in which is very tricky (and saying “when it starts loading” isnt very clear). You dont have that many runs to retime so I suggest changing the starting frame to the moment the blue “play” button from the menu is not visible.
• For the end frame, theres nothing currently. I suggest ending time in the first frame that the white circle appears.

• For the level rules, you could specify from which level to which you have to play.

Other:

• One last suggestion would be to remove regions. Theres no NTSC/USA version of the game
