Why are you allowed to verify your own runs?
Are we the TG?

Thread: When watching vague`s run I ve noticed... something odd (with timing)

When i first watched his run (around a week after i started trying) I noticed that he is not using the same timing method as me. Then I thought it was sth like file select timing (I was using reset timing, I m serious), so i had no problem with that and I quickly changed my methods to a) be okay with the rules b ) save some time. But when i was rewatching his vid later on I noticed that he used sth closest to sda timing (aka. first character move), which saves some time. And I have to ask how should i relate to this. In newest runs after that (btw: https://splits.io/30bp , craziest run I ve ever had, reds and golds intertwined with each time and by the end I had hard time with framerates). I decided to make a similar move to what is used in smb1 speedruns -> start time at the same point, but - time difference to be fair (that I estimated to be around 3.15s, new pb used it), but will run like that be accepted? or should i start time like vague, on 0.0, but sda, or should we switch to "file select timing" and convert the times. For me the most convienient would be first option (-3.15), but i d like to hear a moderator.

Thread: Nice run - I` ve beaten the wr time, but i dont have a video proof, so i cant submit a run

So the cutscene skip.. If i m correct then button are messed up... in a pretty funny way. (Disclaimer: It is what i think it is, it can be nowhere near how it is done). So, yeah. I think that buttons are done in a way that there are two hitboxes overlapped, one for button animation and some minor things, and second for activating doors, "cutscenes" etc. There are two catches to this (un)fortunately. First is that those hitboxes dont cover exactly the same area, this for button is slightly larger, found it way ago when i pressed a button (and it was definetly pressed, because it was in the ground now) and the door didnt open (had to return and stant in where the button was). And a second catch is that one of this minor things is destroying blocks. I have met this two times, one in the level with the high walljumping section, near the middle of the level there is a button that if you press correctly it can destroy blocks to the "hub", but doesnt open the door. The second and much more important is the last button, in the boss level. We can press it in such way, so we destroy the blocks in the 1st level, but dont trigger the cutscene showing this. This theoretically doesnt save time (becuse another funny thing: we have the control over the character when the camera zooms out), but in practice it can save around 3-5 sec and doesnt cost much time to try. I have yet to test how do they overlap and how this work, but this is what i think..

Btw, found nice glitch. Saves around 5 sec and is not hard to do. Not used in the run. Basically cutscene skip

Thanks, decided to use flashback recorder to capture some frames which ended up as a rta time almost 2 min behind the in game time because of frames drop..... will submit now, thanks for info. Btw video quality is also terrible (15fps), but I swear it will be better as soon as i get a new pc 🙂.

There is no way that a run will be accepted based on a screenshot with stats and splits.io page, yup? If no (99%) then just tell hml that his record is endangered, because i have got close (around minute with some very big mistakes, 40 s just by eliminating them, at least 1min by consistency and wr is ready) to it and some grinding would bring me to the wr.
Im worried because for my "PC" there is no way to run the game and manage screen recording at the same time, Im getting some frame drops even now (Web%)
