I have now added a new variable to display a framerate column beside each run. I've gone ahead and filled out this variable for all of the existing times on the leaderboards. (If I added the wrong framerate for your run, please let me know.) |

We have recently made a decision to make a minor change to the game rules. Previously, the rules stated the game framerate must be limited to 250 frames per second or lower; we have now changed this to 240 frames per second. This was only done as it makes more sense to limit the framerate to a multiple of sixty. Any existing runs with framerates higher than 240 will not be invalidated as a result of this, due to how small an effect it would have on gameplay. |

In my 51:06 Any% speedrun I used a program called KeyBinder to bind jump to the mousewheel. After a brief discussion with Feno it was decided this should invalidate my run, as it would most likely make infinite hover easier. Even though my run didn't use infinite hover, it's only fair to treat it the same as other runs of this category. tl;dr |

I guess you can use whatever difficulty you like, but Ultra Violence is the standard difficulty setting for DOOM speedruns, so I think it would make sense to do the same for Heretic, with Smite-Meister being the equivalent. |

In DOOM there's a category called UV-Max which includes getting all secrets as well as killing all monsters. With Heretic being DOOM engine and keeping track of both secrets and monster counts I think we could have some sort of a Smite-Meister Max (SM-Max) if you will. |

Thanks for notifying me of this. I'll move his run to the Any% category. |

I might talk to Monkey about creating some new categories so people can still do runs with the updated physics - if that's even possible; I've not played the game since the physics changed. |

Perhaps try updating your graphics card drivers? I have no idea whether that will actually do anything, this is far from my area of expertise. |

Bit late on this one, but I agree with Jumpy. Cyberscore only tracks ILs for each individual floor, but not each individual world. I think adding charts for individual worlds here would be a good idea, whether they're added as ILs or misc. categories. Could spark some healthy competition in a relatively unpopular game to speedrun. |

The PC version of CatCF is a totally different game. It's a point and click adventure that can be completed in about 50 minutes. Someone should create a new leaderboard for that game rather than have PC as a platform here. Sidenote: Perhaps consider adding 100% as a category also. |

I don't like the idea of abusing map file conversion bugs to allow for a faster route, since obviously the map author has no control over this. I'm never going to run this category or game ever again, so I'll leave the ultimate decision up to you and the other mods. Just thought it might be worthwhile posting my two pence. |

It's been evident from some recent submissions people are unclear as to what the speedrun rules are, so I will clear up a few things in this thread. I will begin by posting the Calmere Nightmare map rules below: 1) Do not wander into the forest or swamp unless instructed so, the wilderness here is dangerous 2) City centre (Gate past the bridge) is off limits, do not go there 3) No destroying blocks unless specifically allowed to (spawners can be destroyed) 4) Signs with a marking such as "1a" or "Dc" mean that you have to find the folder 5) Follow the tips and guidances given in the .txt files for best experiance 6) Play on peaceful unless otherwise instructed to maximise roleplay experiance Note: This map can be played in multiplayer, but best experiance is achieved playing solo. 7) I suggest using a mod that turns off creeper spawning or removes their ability to destroy blocks 😎 Pre-Release 1.9 v1 or later is required because of the use of snow golems as NPCs I will firstly address rule 3. One submission violated this rule by breaking an iron door located in the cave beneath the asylum. There was no instruction in the map notes which allowed this therefore it was an obvious rule violation. Obsidian and spawners are allowed to be broken in this area, not iron doors. Rule 6 states the map should be played on peaceful unless otherwise instructed. Note 4a.txt before entering the asylum states the difficulty must be changed to at least easy. As you pass through the asylum in the speedrun, it is required you play on easy at this point. It's optional whether you change the difficulty before entering the asylum or play on at least easy for the entire attempt. Finally, rule 8 (which displays as an emoticon) states any version released after beta 1.9 pre-release v1 is required to be used. This means runs in the most recent game versions are valid, however I think this should be open for discussion as it causes doors to be broken in certain parts of the map, allowing for players to pass through sooner than is intended. Thanks for reading and I hope this cleared up a few things. |
