As long as it says 0 saves at the end of the game it is classified as single segment. So you can press continue on the game over screen as many times as you want and it will still be single segment (as long as you still have not saved on that run of course). Multi segment is with 1 or more saves. |

Forum: Metal Gear Solid 2: HD Edition Thread: More about loading trick Started by: hikari193hikari193 (edited: ) |
I'm not completely sure how long it does last as I was only told briefly about it and have not tested it myself. Maybe somewhere around 3 to 7 hours before you would have to redo the process to refresh / regain the loading trick? it saves about 4 to 5 minutes on single segment / no save and about 8 minutes on multi segment / with saves. |
Forum: Metal Gear Solid 2: HD Edition Thread: More about loading trick Started by: hikari193hikari193 |
Yeah, play all of Tanker-Plant up the oil fence then kill Emma and press exit on the mission failed screen. Then as long as you don't soft reset (R1 + R2 + L1 + L2 + Start + Select) or reload the game completely via home button or turning off your ps3, you will keep the loading trick effect. So just make sure to get a game over / mission failed screen and press exit each time you want to reset. (Apparently it does eventually wear off after a long time so you would have to "refresh" the loading trick by doing the process again). For single segment / no save runs, you can have the loading trick work up to just before entering the elevator that starts the cutscenes leading into arsenal gear if you die and select exit at that point. |

There is a difference for NG+ Tanker. You have the digital camera (1 input but still saves time OpieOP ) and the USP suppressor shows up after the first run of the Tanker. Also on snake tales for NG+ you get the M9. |

I think you are missing something drako 😛 This is just the 2 hardest difficulties of course but if you take normal and hard or very easy and easy I'm sure you will also find it is the same situation with differences. Also, there are many runs for each difficulty, the only leaderboard that would be empty is easy (I dont know of any easy runs anyway) and then maybe hard would only have a few runs but I feel it is definitely worth separating them all even if you can do it with variables. |
