Hope you have fun. ^^
As short as this game is, I found it to be surprisingly fun, mainly because the premise is enough to make up for the awkward controls.

I don’t really give myself time to watch anime now, but most of the shows and movies I used to watch were basically quote “normie shit”. XD

Thread: Slowdown doesn’t exist on emulator?

Started by: JHolleworthJHolleworth

I suppose those people were just that determined to optimise a game that’s really just average at best, huh? Still, pretty interesting to hear how different emulating this game has been on both sides.

Anyway, even when I was playing the game on PCSX2 and recording with OBS at the same time, the game was always running at a constant 60fps for me with no visual or game-breaking bugs/glitches.

But just to prove my point about the slowdown, I’ve decided to compile footage of Missions 2-1, 2-3, 4-3 and 8-1 being played both on emulator and console.

And as for the rig I’ve been using, well:

PCSX2 Settings:
Aspect Ratio: Standard (4:3)
Renderer: Direct3D11 (Hardware)
Interlacing: Auto
Texture Filtering: Bilinear (PS2)
Internal Resolution: 3x Native
Anisotropic Filtering: Off
CRC Hack Level: Full (Safest)

PC Specs:
CPU: AMD FX-6300 Six-Core Processor @ 3.50 GHz
GPU: Radeon RX 460
Ram: 16GB
OS: Windows 10 Home

I wouldn’t go so far as to call this a “beast”. As I’ve said, it’s just decent.

Been playing this game on PS2 and emulator just as much as each other since on the latter, it’s well optimised for decent rigs such as mine. But when playing it on PCSX2, I’ve noticed that certain parts/scenarios will run smooth like butter, while they’ll slow down when running it on PS2, whether it be because there’s too much stuff on the screen or it just happens for no apparent reason.

It’s like the slowdown this game will often display sometimes seems to exist nowhere else besides when playing it on real hardware.

Granted, I have been learning the ins and outs of this game mainly for fun, but I’m a little bit concerned that this might create some sort of unfair advantage over real hardware.

From what I can gather in the moderator's 100% VOD, time starts on "New Game" (or maybe even selecting "Crash Site" from Load Level) while time ends on where you would get the "You're totally MAWESOME!" achievement.

Thread: So where do we go from here...?

Started by: JHolleworthJHolleworth

Well, both seasons and other Telltale games have been delisted from digital storefronts due to the death of the studio and expired licenses. And in addition to that, the servers will shut down on the 25th of June leaving the downloadable episodes unavailable even for those who have purchased the games.

So unless anyone feels like preserving this series (which I’m sure that someone will regardless), I’m afraid to say that it doesn’t seem like we have anywhere to go from here. 🙁

Even for Telltale speedruns, we’d be reaching levels of absurdity that shouldn’t be possible.

Well, just one recalling my knowledge of the “Hit the road” ending but it really doesn’t matter or change anything before Jesse leaves.

Not too sure about the “Stay in Beacontown” ending but the same most likely applies to that, I bet.

Guess my “fade to black” idea was dumb from the start then. XD

It’s not like the dialogue choice(s) you have after making your decision really matter anyway.

So I suppose for each episode and full-game runs, we could start time as normal (Starting on when we click "Start Episode X" or restarting), but rather than end time on clicking "Continue" at the credits like we decided in Season One, we split when the text "Episode X: [Insert Name]" fades in.

But since the final episode, Above and Beyond doesn't have the whole "Episode X: [Insert Name]" thing at the end, we could just end time on when the screen fades to black after the last choice we make, whether it be we stay in Beacontown or hit the road with Petra.

Sounds reasonable?

Well, now that there’s a “Minecraft: Story Mode series” page and Season Two has been added, I think now's a good time to lock this thread. 🙂

Nowhere at the moment.

As far as I'm concerned, adding Season 2 as it's own game seems like the most logical solution, but until there's at least one "speedrun" of it brought to my attention, whether it be an individual episode or all five in one go, I don't really see the point in adding it right now honestly. It would just feel like a waste of space.

But hey, these are just my thoughts for the time being. I could always add Season 2 as it's own game for no reason. XD

Although, is it just me or is the "All Choices" category going in ASCENDING order rather than DESCENDING? 😕

17 days (as of the time I'm typing this) and the runs that I've submitted of this game have not been verified.

Obviously, I know the mods have lives and all, but I didn't expect my runs to be left hanging like this. XD

Not really. People like me just do Medium because it's more fun than Easy anyway.

There's loads of tutorials regarding this, so there's obviously other means of getting the PC version besides torrents.

And that comment about being on a Mac? Welcome to the club m8.
I wouldn't really say getting GH3 on Mac is worth it though. Mine seems to have so much shit against X-Plorers and Xbox controllers in general.

(And yes, I did torrent my version)
