I don't think there is any real reason to remove glitchless as a category, even if it is mostly useless. |

I am completely fine with everything you just said. Unless something would somehow change 100% to make cheats useful then it only adds confusion. |
Forum: Rabbids Go Home Thread: Are glitches "cheats" Started by: TheretrogamerbayTheretrogamerbay (edited: ) |
No, glitches are no cheats, "cheats" refer to a debug thing the developers left in the game where if you hold c+z+b in the level select and press certain buttons you can unlock any level, making any% cheats 4(?) levels longs since we still need to unlock dashing. Right now there are no glitchless categories but the glitches that do exist are pretty hard and not too worth it in runs since you need the XS stuff outside of the with cheats categories. If the glitches were worth going for in run I would be for making a glitchless category but right now it would be too similar to the existing one. |

Neither text speed or glitches should be any different. The WR mostly used JP for fun. |

Is there any chance of this game getting an IL leaderboard? I've been thinking of doing some but I wouldn't know what to do with them. |

I asked him on discord and he said he'll do it. You should have mod now if everything worked. |

The best thing to do would be to try and contact the current mods through other ways (Theretrogamerbay, for instance seems like he's active on twitter and he also has a discord, but Zero_uk only has a twitch link so he might be hard to reach) If that doesn't work then there is this thread: http://www.speedrun.com/The_Site/thread/63nr7 but it should only be used as a last resort if nothing else work. If you don't have twitter/discord I can try contacting retrogamer for you and ask if he could add you as a mod. |
Forum: Rabbids Go Home Thread: Offering some help Started by: |
Yeah, another mod would be nice since there's only one who's even doing anything at all, and he doesn't do it often. If needed we can contact site admins to add you since it was a while since the others were online. Mods should be people who play the game at least, and since I don't want to be one right now, you would be the only other who does. |

I wanted to start this to explain some of the glitches I use in ILs, and also to give me somewhere to post minor skips and misc. glitches whenever I don't wanna do ILs Scream spamming - When you scream, there is a timer before you can scream again. If you pause right after the scream and wait out the timer, you can instantly scream again when unpausing. Running on death barriers - Some death barriers let you run on them as long as you keep screaming, this together with scream spamming can be abused to get Out of Bounds in some areas Scream boosting. When screaming while going off a ledge. you can preserve your air momentum and angle. Combined with a B-boost you can gain crazy amounts of speed and get both far and high up. |

It takes quite a bit of practice to do the screaming trick consistantly but its not too bad once you get used to it, if any of you try this specific trick, follow my path as much as possible because the area is filled with places you fall |

If you find a way to duplicate XS-stuff then the max score for ALL levels is 1000, but so far there is only one level I know where you can go over the normal limit. But yeah, without glitches its 150 in that level. |

When I was about to submit a run of the first level in the game "All Pile on the Rabbid!" I noticed that it is currently not on the Level Leaderboards and I would like if it was added. If you doubt me about the name of the level, you can see for yourself by holding c+z+b in level select and tap left until you reach the level. |

As far as I know, no, there are no advantages to using cheats. You could use it to make the run safer by doing the hardest levels first, but otherwise its kinda useless. |
Forum: Rabbids Go Home Thread: IL timing conventions Started by: Zero_ukZero_uk |
I do agree that gain of control can be hard to time (I have some experience with that... two runs were retimed) so from reset would be easier. But I don't think that pressing "a" to pick up the XL-stuff is good as an end point, especially not for the levels that do not have an a-press prompt at the end. |

Probably won't happen before we're done routing any% But I would like to work on one after that. 100% would be really interesting to see if someone would bother running it |

I don't think it's a big deal, it almost always requires some pretty annoying tricks and probably doesn't save much time |

If there's something we shouldn't be forced to do for 100%, it would be this: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0BybQ4CVL578yYzRWSjNEZEtfOWs/view?usp=drivesdk Edit: Im guessing every level caps out at 1000 (because its not possible to go over 1000 in normal levels) even if they don't have that much stuff. |

Meanwhile I'm sitting here in Dolphin, trying to find skips in "Keep on Piling". Sadly, the only thing I've found is a really hard trick and the effect it gives you is close to impossible to control, even with savestates and frame advance. It MIGHT be useful for a TAS but only for IL, since you would most likely skip the boost if you somehow get where you want. |
Forum: Rabbids Go Home Thread: Level select secret Started by: Isaq21Isaq21 (edited: ) |
I believe you don't actually need to do "Keep on piling" to get boost, I'm not 100% sure about this though but I think you always have boost in all levels that are in the second tier or higher. EDIT: Also, if I remeber correctly, your pile goes back to what it's supposed to be at when you leave the level select or enter a level, thus making the pile go up to 23000 at the first visit unnecessary IF we need to do the level to get boost. |
Forum: Rabbids Go Home Thread: Level select secret Started by: Isaq21Isaq21 |
In the level select, if you hold C+Z+B and press direction on the d-pad or A, you can do some things that are really useful for practice if you have no completed file I believe this should be banned from runs (maybe allow it in all missions?) and if any of them should be allowed, its the A-button one. |
