Yeah in free camera you save a handful of frames from certain attacks by just being closer and making the movement/spell animations shorter. Overall its not a huge time save, like 1-2 minutes max on the entire run.

Switch will be its own category most likely. It has cutscene skip, increased battle speed, and 2D mode which significantly changes the game (by several hours).

I know there is a leadboard out there somewhere for Horse racing ILs, I've had people in my chat tell me about it. Not sure where though.

Palace is correct, those are the rules Japanese runners use and what we have been using. Several of us have done runs, we just haven't uploaded times yet probably cause we wanna do better before submitting times.

The only special rules we had really discussed (We have a DQRTA discord server if you are interested) include no DLC. The Trodain gear is fair game because everyone gets the items in their starting inventory.

Currently in Japan there are categories for PS4 HDD, PS4 SSD, and 3DS. Obviously we need to add a PC category because of the load times. I've been told that SSD saves about 20-30 minutes over HDD, which is a really unfair advantage. I believe those should be the 4 major categories. Anything else, like Sword of Light% or True Ending% are just other meme categories you are welcome to make that are not any% versions of the game.

Thread: Timing Method

RTA is defined as running a timer until the game has been completed. If you pause a timer during an RTA attempt, you have broken the rules and your run is invalidated. Most people run games for fun and you can do what you want, but if you are going to submit a time to be known around the world, you have to follow the defined rules. I don't see why this game should be an exception to the rule.
