I've been off the forums for the past 3 days, have you also started adding beta testers or something because I've seen a few forum posts saying stuff like "they added beta testers" or something. I want to know if it's misinformation or if they genuinely got added.

Thread: Am I allowed to request uncompleted games?

generally you can't request games that aren't finished yet, but it has happened before

I've also done it in the past and only a month ago it finally got accepted, even though I've requested 127 as far back as April of this year, so I don't know if that makes me a "well-known user" or not.

The issues here and with every previous Elo update could have been solved with community beta testing, and/or running the potential changes past the users first.

What I find to be weird is that they literally added a post in the News section at one point essentially saying that they have beta-tester applications up for anyone who might want to apply. It's still there however I don't know if they added even 1 person as a beta tester or if they closed those applications but I think they should just reopen those again and actually choose people this time. Like why make a post asking for beta-testers and then not add anyone and completely forget about its existence?
This is the post I'm referencing by the way: https://www.speedrun.com/news/581-2021-2-23-knowledge-base-and-layout-updates

Thread: Can we please disable comments for runs on our respective leaderboards?

Started by: SBCzSBCz

To solve this issue I think the following should be implemented so that both sides are happy (using a direct quote from myself from another thread of mine):

Originally posted by Hi Instead of getting banned from the website as a whole, what if you could separate getting banned on the forums from getting banned from submitting runs? To me it seems very unfair to get banned forever due to how easy it is. Simply having an unpopular opinion that the mods or the users in general dislike will get you banned, so what could be done instead is ban that person just from the forums while allowing them to still submit runs, and viceversa too.

Thread: The Games & Users Update - Feedback & Bugs thread

I'm in the favor of adding people who get to bug-test the site before a feature is officially added. Who else is with me?
Edit: Maybe give them something that make them stand apart from other users as well so that they know who is a bug tester and who isn't, a badge or something could work.

Edit 2: If something like this does get added eventually I'd like to also volunteer in bug testing the site. No pressure though.

So far the update looks pretty good for forums, however I strongly dislike the way the games leaderboards look now. I don't think there were any flaws in the old layout and look, I haven't seen anyone complain about the look of the leaderboards, the only thing some users were complaining about was the active runners and the game's view count as they were very inaccurate at times (which are still broken by the way).
You also did remove a few features either by accident or intentionally, such as this one:

Originally posted by Bob-chicken The links next to the title of the forum post made it easy to navigate. Those are gone.

One more thing that I don't like is that, while showing that you can display even more information now, I don't want everyone to know this much information about me and my profile, and there is currently no way to toggle certain things on/off.

Damn you're right about that.
Also I didn't notice that they changed the user GUI and the others too. I guess that's pretty cool too, now we can finally have a custom flair box like @Matse007Matse007 suggested. Still crossing fingers for followers to get added though.

The forums have gotten a new look just now which leaves me to believe that there is more to come for the forums than just the look. What do you think of it?

Originally posted by Act7 If you're looking at the chain threads, then you can not only talk to me about saying stupid things in that thread, but also @TuttereyTutterey, @HiHi, and O.D.W.

I'm not a fan of creating more drama than necessary but I felt like I can't let this slip under the radar seemingly unnoticed.
The difference between me and you is that I admit to farming them and am responsible for the consequences that it may have. I said this to many friends of mine, one of them being @123123, and I'm not trying to hide the fact that I was farming them, as evidence points towards that conclusion. You might have noticed that I'm not nearly as active anymore as I used to be since I reached my posts goal that I had, so it's hard to talk smack about someone who's responsible for their actions and publicly admits their mistake ahead of time.
On the other hand, you keep claiming to not farm posts when the evidence says otherwise. I find it very hard to believe that you're not farming posts when you reached 550+ posts in just the span of 2 months, which is even more posts than what I've got in 3 months. O.D.W posts stupid things and copypastas because that's literally what he's best known for, he's been doing this for months at this point.
