Thread: Can We make N64 Seperate From Emu

Started by: RetroRunsRetroRuns

I have been talking with Scorpi about this since new N64 runners have appeared in the game and definitely emu gives a bigger advantage against console since it has less to no lag. Unfortunately both of us cannot make changes since we' re just verifiers. I talked with alexmandi about a possibility of moving us to game mods but mandi lost the access to his account. I talked with Pac hoping to get moved but he stop replying my messages (probably he was busy and I understand it). I'll try to talk with Pac again to see if he can do something with us since mandi is not active on the site

BlessRNG for this

P.S. PS1 version deserves love

Well, today I noticed something interesting. I have been running the game in spanish since that is my main language, but I decided to make a run on english and I've noticed that there' re more dialog boxes in some parts. For example, when Sheldon talks to you after you beat a stage with a new weapon, on English you have 5 dialog boxes while on Spanish you just have 3, maybe this is not something big but I also noticed that some dialog text boxes are switched between languages and I felt that there' re more text boxes in english than spanish. Probably I'll keep doing more test to see that

Thread: Can you use dolphin

Started by: WurtweakleWurtweakle

As Shadow said, Dolphin is unstable as heck, but since rules doesn't have any kind of restrictions with emulators and nobody runs the PS2/GC version, feel free to run the game in Dolphin emu. Obviously when you submit your run we're gonna see how correctly does the emulation is, you need to keep care about some stuff during your run like a stable framerate, don't use any kind of tool to have better graphics and all kind of stuff like that.

Also it would be nice if you can add an input display program in order to prove that you didn't use extra tools (like prerecorded runs), it's not required but is appreciated in order to make the verification more faster

(edited: )

Well, DS & GBA should have another leaderboards since the games are entirely different. Wii/PS2/PC/X360 are the same, the only difference should be the loading times (being PC ridiculously fast). It should be a good idea to add Xbox 360 & Wii U (using a Wii disc) as platforms since my Wii runs has been done on a Wii U using the retail disc, but somebody need to test the eShop version of the game (considered as Wii U VC)

The reason why I said that about eShop version is because in 2011 Ubisoft released "Raving Rabbids Party Collection" which includes RRR 1, 2 & TV Party, and with RRR1 there was a change in musical minigames, removing "Hip Hop Horray" and putting instead "La Bamba" (forcing you to play the song 4 times in the game), which is curious because if we go for a 100% route we can hear HHH when the unlocking screen appears in the game, but in the jail jukebox the song never appears, making that the Party Collection version good for Any% (if you don't go for the musical minigames) but unfair for 100%, and I have a doubt about if the eShop version is the first retail edition of the game or is the modified Party Collection version. If I got some money next month I'm gonna buy the eShop version for testing purposes

Also, another good idea should be to have a leaderboard for PC and a second one for consoles, or well, make the runs loadless in order to make them ore fair to run, but since not so many people run this game I don't think that mods will do this kind of stuff here. PC is faster to run but it's a bit boring since the way you play the minigames is weird and doesn't have so much sense, PS2/X360 are controller killers and Wii version was the only intended version for the game (since here the minigames has a kind of sense with the motion gaming of the platform).

For now I just have played the PS2, Wii & PC version since 2008, being PC the one with more faster loading times and PS2 slightly slower than Wii, haven't tested the 360 version since I don't own the console

Does the NES Classic is banned or can I do a run using it?? I don't like to use PC emulators and it's the only platform I have to run the game

Try to use PJ64 1.7 or other plugins in your emulator. Sometimes some new plugins causes some glitches in some games and the best way to fix that is to use older plugins
