The floor you start at on Air Force One depends on how you ended Air Base. You have 2 options here. You can either finish Air Base on the ladder (so that you will start Air Force One where the videos do), or simply start Air Force One upstairs and just go downstairs. Once downstairs you want to go to the very last room, get the keycard from the guard in there, press B on the switch on your left, and the equipement will get upstairs with you.

Thread: Co-op Runs

Started by: GoodleShoesGoodleShoes

I found this:
http://www.thengamer.com/PD/24-Coop/elite.htm
The "WRs", updated on 2012.
Some of them are not WRs anymore (and seriously, I highly doubt Defection A 0:12 is a WR for co-op... I think even I myself have done lower than that). Another problem is that Chuya and Cedric used to have video proofs, but all of them are gone now.
You can find some proofs still on YouTube. For example:
1) Illu-Dantte Defection SA 0:23 -
2) From Boss-Clemens you can find at least 9 videos in this channel: https://www.youtube.com/user/BizarreTriangle/videos (just scroll for videos uploaded 9 years ago).
3) Icy-Flickerform have a couple of videos uploaded as well, Crash Site SA 1:12 and PA 1:26.5.

There might be some more lost stuff in the-Elite forums archive or stuff like that.

I hope that helps.

Thread: I've just uploaded my Agent times and guides!

Started by: DeepDarknessDeepDarkness

Hi everyone. After over a month studying in depth every level and grinding them, I've finally posted all of my Agent times and strats. One thing before I start my post, I want to thank Slevanas, DoctorDave5001, ShavedThrone10, Adam Miller, Stefan Mahrla, Dark Ayron, joey47, failurewarning, Fal and PDM (sorry if I forgot someone) for all the motivation, support, help, strats and goals that they have provided to me. I hope some of you remain active in the near future, I want to keep at speedrunning this game, and it would be great to have some competitors. Let's start!

I reached my goal (beating PDM and Fal in every mission) on the 1st of November 2017, when I finally got Nightclub Agent 1:25. As far as I know I currently hold 14/14 Untied World Records on Agent mode (15 if we count Temple glitchless). Of course, I have no means to actually know if my times are UWRs or not (sorry if they are not, let me know and I'll modify my post), but at least I've managed to beat all the times that I've found on The-Elite forums, on the German Gaming Elite forums, on speedrun.com, and on quite long searches in Google and YouTube, so I'll consider them as UWRs until better times are claimed and proven.

All of my posted times have links to captured video proofs on my YouTube channel, and later in this post I'll include even more (I'll set as "Public" my YouTube videos one of these days, until then, use the links in order to find them). Also, I've uploaded 3 guides:
- A guide describing how to manipulate the RNG on Agent (and Secret Agent).
- A guide on how to do the Out of Bounds glitches.
- A full speedrunning guide for Agent ILs describing all the strats that I use in each level (I tried to make it both as short as possible and as detailed as possible).

To end this post, by request of a friend, I'll write down every personal record that I've got on each level along these 2 months (I'm sorry, some of the times and videos are missing on the list, unfortunately). A time with "¤¤" after it means that even though I haven't uploaded the video to YouTube, I still have the video in my laptop, and I can upload it if anyone asks me to do it. For the times that I've uploaded to YouTube, I'll add direct links to their video proof. Also, I'll write which records were World Records or Untied World Records when set:
Mission 0: Datacore | Demolition: 5:24, 5:09, 5:02¤¤, 4:59¤¤, 4:57 (UWR)

Mission 1: Nightclub | Stakeout: 1:35, 1:32¤¤, 1:31, 1:26 (WR), 1:25 (UWR)

Mission 2: Subway | Retrieval: 2:34, 2:27¤¤ (WR), 2:26 (UWR), 2:25 (UWR)

Mission 3: Rooftops | Escape: 4:19, 3:32¤¤ (UWR), 3:08 (UWR)

Mission 4: Mansion | Infilltration: 3:03¤¤, 2:49¤¤ (UWR), 2:48¤¤ (UWR), 2:30¤¤ (UWR), 2:28 (UWR)

Mission 5: Laboratory | Rescue: 2:45, 2:41, 2:16¤¤ (UWR), 2:15 (UWR)

Mission 6: River | Extraction: 4:21, 3:49 (UWR), 3:44 (UWR), 3:27 (UWR)

Mission 7: Trinity | Infiltration: 2:51¤¤, 2:41 (UWR)

Mission 8: Trinity | Escape: 4:06 (UWR), 3:50¤¤ (UWR), 3:46 (UWR), 3:42 (UWR)

Mission 9: Jungle | Storm: 2:56 (WR), 2:44 (UWR)

Mission 10: Temple | Surveillance, glitchless: 2:38, 2:29¤¤, 2:27 (UWR)

Mission 10: Temple | Surveillance, OoB glitch: 1:15 (UWR), 1:02 (UWR), 1:00¤¤ (UWR), 0:59 (UWR)

Mission 11: Outpost | Rescue: 1:46 (UWR), 1:44¤¤ (UWR), 1:43 (UWR)

Mission 12: Bridge | Assault: 4:28¤¤, 4:26¤¤, 4:18¤¤, 4:15¤¤, 4:09¤¤ (WR), 4:04¤¤ (UWR), 4:01¤¤ (UWR), 3:58 (UWR), 3:50 (UWR)

Mission 13: Arena | Showdown: 0:53¤¤, 0:52¤¤, 0:43 (UWR)

Total Agent time counting OoBs: 36:27
Total Agent time without counting OoBs: 37:55

That's all. I hope you like my strats and find interesting all the extra info. I'm mostly going to play harder difficulties now for some time. Please, leave here any feedback, comments, questions, suggestions, etc. you have and I'll try to reply as soon as I can 🙂.

Hi. I just wanted to know if I will or I will not be added as a mod, since I haven't known any news from you for some days.

About my times for ILs, I'll upload them when I'm less busy.

Started by: ShavedThrone10ShavedThrone10

I've watched all 4 videos available so far, it's so cool that you are making these guides. I'll also provide my own ones at some point, I'm afraid I don't have much time right now. I knew 2 of the strats, but the other 2 are brand new to me! My comments:

- Mission 0: I knew this one already, but unfortunately that only seems to be possible on PA and DA. At least in my game, scientists seem to be immortal on both Agent and Secret Agent.

- Mission 3: I didn't know this one, and I have to say it's pretty cool, definitely woth a try!

- Mission 5: I knew this one. It's awesome, right? 😛. I found it by accident when messing around the level.

- Mission 11: I didn't know this one, and it's a good find. Of course, it's not as fast as using the OoB glitch, but it's definitely a time saver for glitchless speedruns!

I think that's all, keep the good work! And good luck with the Dark Agent full game speedrun! If you manage to do it deathless, that would be an impressive gaming achievement!

Can you beat Arena only with pistols? It's a question for real, I haven't played that level in years, and also I'm taking a break from gaming. As far as I remember, I've always beat that level using the viblade to kill him.

Co-op sounds cool. It's a shame that I have no idea of how to use Xbox Live. I can do Co-ops with friends or my brothers, of course, but I doubt any of them really wants it.

The Elite doesn't play PDZ since like 10 years ago. But a few Eliters did play the game when it came out: Christian Fengler (PDM), Ian Fallen (Fal), Adam Miller, and a few more. But those were times where YouTube was not a thing, which is a shame. But after a few months they seemed to get bored of the game or something. The German Gaming Elite also used to play the game, but again, that was 10 years ago, and the only really notable player seemed to be PDM, which is an Eliter. There was a guy with nickname Ayron who started speedrunning Dark Agent mode and got some decent times, but I've only found 2 videos from him (temple in 4:03, and jungle in 15:03, you can find them in David Schiering's YouTube Channel). In some levels he needed almost an hour though, I think, and I haven't found any other video by him.

About the Trinity question, yeah, I've wondered that too, since the guy who got the glitch I talk about managed to reach one of those intercom things but didn't use it for some reason, so I have no idea if that would actually work. He didn't even get close enough to it for the "activate" message to appear on screen. If I ever learn to glitch, I'll spend time on this particular level. But still, 58 seconds doesn't seem like something that can be done, given that since the moment you see Dr Caroll you still need like 40 seconds to end the mission.

For full-game speedruns it's perfectly fine to use checkpoints imo, because it's measured as real time. Also, not only you restart with full health and full body armour, but also, you start again with your initial weapons with full ammo, which can be pretty useful sometimes.

But for ILs, using checkpoints messes up the in-game time, making that feature of the game useless. People can do whatever pleases, but since I only play for in-game times and not real time runs, for me it won't ever be okay to post an IL speedrun that uses checkpoints, and if someone does, I personally can't count it as a WR myself. When the-Elite started playing this game they didn't accept runs using checkpoints either for the same reason.

About Trinity Infiltration, you can get an OoB glitch at the corners of the huge gate after the brothers fight and it drives you straight downstairs, but as far as I know, you are still far from Dr Caroll's optimal spot, and also, he doesn't spawn if you glitch they say, I haven't tried it myself. Also, let's do some math: in my game, from the moment I start to speak to Dr Caroll till the end of the mission, it takes about 39-40 seconds. That means that even with an instant glitch you would need to reach Dr Caroll in less than 20 seconds including the time to reach the glitch spot and the glitch itself. Basically, even if you use the checkpoint and the glitch, it's impossible that you can ever pace 58 seconds in that mission. Here, like in PD XBLA, people have find a way to use gamesharks or hacks or something to do impossible times, and that's why the "World's Best" rank in this game can never be trusted. I think I once saw a perfect run on PD XBLA by Timokless (that guy is the most insane speedrunner I've ever seen in that game) which was something like 58 seconds, and when he showed the World Ranks someone had a 0:16 in theory, which is 100% impossible.

I sincerely think no runs like that should be accepted, though. Because that only measures the time of the second part of the level, not the level itself. You can't say I've beat that level in that time. The game is dessigned wrong in that aspect because PDZ is meant to be played for points, not for times, which imo is a mistake, but I think here, like in other games, we should only count runs that go from the beginning to the end for the in-game ranks, and yes, that means deathless runs.

Well... That's why we should not accept runs unless they go all the way from the beginning to the ending.

But even with checkpoints... For that particular mission I don't know where it is, but if it's where I think it is, 58 can't be done, I'm 100% sure of that. Not even with glitches, I mean. I'll have to check stuff myself though.

Trinity Infiltration in 58 seconds? Haha, very hard to believe that!! Not even in Agent.

I have 3 theories though:
1) I know there is an OoB glitch on the beginning of that level, but the player who found it didn't really find any use to it because Dr Caroll didn't spawn in his game when he tried it. I'll have to study it myself, though, since I know a lot about that level, but first I'd have to learn how to glitch, I've never tried yet because first I want to speedrun everything glitchless.
2) Where is the checkpoint for that level? (I can't check it until Monday) When you fail/abort a mission after the checkpoint and press "Control", your mission time will be only from the checkpoint to the end. Maybe the checkpoint is somewhere near the end? However I pretty much doubt it is. If it's where I think it is, I can guarantee that even with glitches you can't pace that time, including guiding Dr Caroll to his office.
3) Hacks/Cheats/Gamesharks... Fake. On Perfect Dark XBLA there are some impossible WRs as well.

So yeah, I'll have to experiment with OoBs if I find out how to do them, but I doubt 100% that 58 on that level is possible to even pace.

Thread: Question about ILs

Started by: DeepDarknessDeepDarkness

Hi, thank you 🙂 .

I still have the question, I'm afraid, sorry.
I've just made a video to explain better. Take this video for example:

It's just a completion of River - Extraction on Agent in 4:29 (not record, this is just a test video). The video begins in the beginning cinema, it doesn't show the loading screen. After the video I prove that the IGT is 4:29. If I were to submit this run, what should I do? What should I put in the section "Time"? The "Real Time" of that run, according to the video, is 4:31 + the loading time, but the loading time is not shown in my video. Is it okay to time the loading screen myself and just add it to the total time? Or simply the run wouldn't be accepted? Or what? Because like I explained before, I don't choose the missions from the main menu usually, I just hit restart over and over since it's much much much faster, then I basically never have the big loading screen (I don't expect a record in the very first run of the day, for sure).

The problem I have is that ALL of my records are recorded like that! Literally all. Basically I don't know if this run would be accepted, as it doesn't fulfil the rule.

I need to know what I should do in this situation, because I want to know if my times would be accepted here or not!

Sorry for my bad English, it's hard to explain myself in this language.

Hi everyone. I'm new in these forums.

I'm the player whose name on the ILs appears as DeepDarknessSpain. I used to hold quite a few WRs in the game back in 2012, and atk135 and me did run a forum about the game back then.

I've seen the ILs aren't complete, and besides the times are not associated to my account on the site. I plan to post all of my records for ILs in the game using my account, if I am allowed to do so. Would it be possible to somehow remove the ones "played by DeepDarknessSpain" to avoid duplicates?

Thanks in advance.

Thread: Question about ILs

When I said a gaming Elite I precissely meant The-Elite (Perfect Dark and GoldenEye 007). Cool that you know them. I also think that the ILs should be ranked by IGT, but that's not my decission.

The problem though is that with the current rules the loading screen counts as real time as well, and I don't record it in my videos! There are personal records that I can easily repeat or beat, but some others were hell and took me hours of grinding. I need to know if it would be acceptable to post the ILs without the loading screen and simply add that extra time for the real time thing, it would be a pity if it weren't.

And yes, lol, 23 seconds is insane. In the videos here it's like double as fast! That has to be something about the updates of the game. As far as I know my game has never been updated.

Thread: Question about ILs

Started by: DeepDarknessDeepDarkness

Hi everyone, I'm new in these forums, although I've been following it for some time now.

I started playing this game many years ago, and since the very beginning, I was highly interested in speedrunning it. However, due to several circunstances, I've been very on and off in it. I might post my times when I consider them all good enough.

However, I have a question regarding the submission rules. I come from a gaming Elite where only the in-game time of the missions matters in their games, and here, apparently, the real time is what matters for the ILs. Whether that makes sense to me or not is completely irrelevant, but I have a question:

When I record my ILs, my videos start with the beginning cinema. I don't record the loading screen for several reasons, first because they are long and boring, second because I play for the in-game times (hence the loading is irrelevant), and third because when I fail or abort a mission, I hit restart (when you hit restart you get a ~4-seconds loading screen, instead of going back to the menu, selecting again the difficulty, the mission, and watching that super long loading screen, lol... I play some levels hundreds and hundreds of times maybe seeking good execution, I can't do it the long way!).

My question is if it is acceptable here to post a video without the loading screen and write a comment with a link to a separate video where I show that it lasts for whatever amount of seconds, and simply time both things together for the real time. For example in Laboratory Rescue it's consistently 23 seconds of loading (huge!), it seems, for me, I haven't checked the other levels.

Thanks in advance,
DD.

Let me know if you didn't understand my question, I can try to re-word it. English is not my first language.
