A new strat found by The8bitbeast that works in all versions of Crash 1, 2 and 3.

You alternate between diagonals on the DPad (or analog) every active frame (ex. up-left -> down-right) while jumping to build up backwards speed, which you then release by just holding the opposite direction to the one you want to go.

Currently TAS only, unless someone can figure out an RTA way of doing it (by pause buffering or something).

EDIT: Nevermind, there's some crashing obstacles in the way at step 4.

Found a possible Gemstone warp use:

1. Warp to Gemstone.
2. Enter a Purple Token challenge.
3. Quit to main menu.
4. Warp to Gemstone.
5. Enter Oxide, Pinstripe or Komodo.
6. Deathabuse.

This will put you back into Gemstone with the Purple Gem in your items (with its added %), however to get out you need to quit to main menu and warp back into adventure mode (probably Gemstone warp again, to do the stored Oxide challenge in Cove or something).

(someone needs to test if it counts towards unlocking Turbo Track)

A glitch that is able to increase the level counter forever.

Works on NTSC-U and on PAL, does not work on NTSC-J.

Setup:
1. Go into Battle Mode 2P, pick any characters.
2. Select Rocky Road (or Lab Basement if you have that unlocked, though that'd be NG+).
3. Battle Setup: Life Limit Mode, any lengths, Teams: P1 Red, P2 Yellow, any weapons.
4. Have P1 win and retry until you get to the value of the level you want to warp to (value gets increased by 1 at the final hit).
5. When you're at the value you want, change setup instead of retrying and start battle once you're in the setup menu.

Alt Setup (works the same):
Teams: P1 Yellow, P2 Blue, and make P2 win every time.

1 - dragon mines
2 - crashed (blizzard bluff)
3 - crashed (crash cove)

In case it isn't clear, to get to the Ending from Rocky Road, you win 19 times before warping.

After warping to credits, you'll be back in Adventure Mode, with the last save in memory, where you can skip trophies by dying and skip CTR tokens by dying after getting the letters (thanks to hypnoshark for finding that). Some levels will crash while entering, though. This glitch can be reversed by saving, exiting to main menu, then loading the save.

Did some 2 Player solo testing.

Instawin in 2P works just like in 1P, except for a few challenges:
- Ballistix gems (except Sky Balls) can be insta-won at the start regardless of starting health
- Dash items (except Trophy) fail on timeout instead of lowest lap winner (might be normal if it sums up team laps?)
- Tie Breaker doesn't have force victory, works normally

Instaboss, Dash Panic and Timer effects work the same.

Nothing else happens differently (at least as far as up to Oxide).

Solo-ing 2P is almost easy, if you were to use the Player 3 deletion code, but you end up having to get 1 gem, from either Pogos or Sky Balls. Solo-ing Painter or PAG gem is possible, without timer, with Player 3 deletion, but at that point you could maybe do Dash gems...

Reworked codes to fix Oxide, and combined some effects.

Global changes:
- Anything with this Panic Dash crashes when changing save slot from the topleft one (can still use that one to save/load or add more codes)
- Anything with this Instaboss makes pause menu not have item count
- Anything with this Instawin has stacked first digits on Balls and Dash, but it's just a visual glitch
- Need to save something in save slot 1 before doing the codes or else the game will crash after entering them

Panic Dash - Dash gives you wumpa and powerups all the time, Polars AI is messed up and Melt Panic gives players debuffs all the time (always a positive so it's included in all of these)

Tanks - Force victory when at full health to win any item.
Dash - changes nothing.
Medieval - changes nothing, except for Keg Kaboom where forcing victory deletes all enemies, but you keep going until time runs out. Keg Kaboom crystal instafails on force victory.
Bosses - changes nothing. Instawin these by using Instaboss.

Timer code V3 - Works with saving, Tanks, Komodo, no Dash changes (that means no Dash boosts), no Polar changes (that means no AI or Melt Panic stuff). Still crashes on Oxide, unless you combine it with Instant Oxide.

Instant Win V4 - Now it gets tricky

-No shadows
-No countdown models
-Most powerups don't show over players
-Win camera is dynamic
-Crashes on warp room pause

How to use:
Crates - Force victory when at full health to win any item. On PS1, may crash on the first wumpa wave, so pause stall there.
Balls - Force victory when at full health to win any item.
Pogo - changes nothing.
Bears - randomized win when forced victory.
Tanks - Force victory when at full health to win any item. Sometimes crash sometimes on load - depending on level order. Other times it has harmless graphics glitches.. Pause stall to be safe.
Dash - changes nothing.
Medieval - changes nothing, except for Keg Kaboom where forcing victory deletes all enemies, but you keep going until time runs out.
Papu/Bearminator - broken healthbars, but the fights work normally. Bearminator crosshair is invisible.
Komodo - changes nothing.
Oxide - Crashes, unless you use instant Oxide.

I messed around the save's name input screen and found out that you can make the selection go "out of bounds". Now I took a look at it in the game's memory and it turns out that on NTSC-U and PAL you can make the memory value for the selection go nuts with the right inputs.

How-to:
Enter save screen, select any file, select the letter V, press left and down at the same time and if the selection disappeared, it's out of bounds. Do the button combination with the DPad, then press Start and then Triangle to exit the screen.

Here's some combinations I've figured out so far on NTSC-U: (R - Right, L- Left, U - Up, D - Down)

Some effects carry over even after going to the main menu, so speedrun-wise either a console reset should be forced, or pre-run manipulation should be allowed.

On PAL, the possible combinations only crash or don't do much. On NTSC-J, even though the glitch is possible, the value is capped on 2 of the 3 fonts, and the last one just softlocks when you try anything.

As with games themselves, series moderators should be able to adjust the default filtering/sorting settings (not just on/off) for a series.

Series mods should also be able to remove a game's series tag if it's inappropriate (for example: a Sonic mod -> a Mario game having a Sonic series tag).
