I think the main game can just keep the original versions of the add-ons. There is definitely value in playing the tracks with the skips. In the case of Green Valley, the original is the same but I'm personally ok if we submit Green Valley runs to both pages.

We discussed two other changes: for Grand Prix, we could have Beam Runner instead of Nostalgia (since we're removing Nostalgia) and China instead of Extreme Dimension (since Extreme Dimension is the "Fort Magma" of the mod). Which GPs you put these tracks in is up to you. We are also not sure about including Frozen Drive because there are some cannon problems and an exploit, so I guess work on the other changes first. Ideally I'd like to include it since it's a nice track. Maybe Theodore can test how much time it saves (or I can if I get the chance). 🙂

EDIT: Theodore and I think it's best if Frozen Drive is included in the mod but not in Story Mode. You can try the track for yourself though and see if you feel otherwise.

Hmm...keeping the modded code might be best then, but I have no idea what I'm going to do lol. There's barely any mention of the error I'm getting on my laptop, and I've tried for hours to get the error fixed on my PC. Maybe I could ask the IRC but I don't know if anyone there uses Windows. I promise I'll get it working someday hehe.

Here were the changes, which are still open to discussion if needed:

Replace Nostalgia and Shiny Suburbs with Frozen Drive and Beam Runner (Frozen Drive, like Beam Runner, is only available on the forums, and I can get you a link).

Blackhill Mansion can be the egg hunt track and Canyon 42 can be a reverse track.

Perhaps the mod could be made so that compiling is not needed? I don't know if this would be doable or what requires coding.

If you're up for it and have experience in Blender, the Subsea track could be fixed since it is a nice ttack. But it's up to you whether you want to/have timeto fix it or not.

Theodore can let me know if I'm missing anything important. 😉

I think since no one has run the game yet an update would be fine, but before it's updated there are a few things I want to discuss (maybe layer today) when I get the chance. Maybe we could discuss on Discord?

I have Monday and Tuesday off so maybe if I'll still have time to do runs if I can compile it, we'll see. Yeah I don't think the errors I'm getting have to do with your mod, but I've compiled STK before so I'm not sure what's going on lol.

I'm having some problems with compiling it (I'm not sure but I think the issue is with Wiiuse), so if I don't get to streaming it this weekend, hopefully I'll have it working by next weekend. Maybe I'll try compiling normal STK to see if that still works.

The add-ons site has the revisions history though, right? For example, for Bovine Barnyard you can select "Download Revision 2" for the one that we originally used?

I'm still a fan with using the time we use on normal STK for consistency, but I can go either way. I haven't compiled the mod yet but are you saying that on Story Mode, egg locations are always in the SuperTux location regardless of difficulty? If thid the case, then we could definitely leave as is.

Theodore pointed out that one of the eggs in Canyon 42 is impossible to get on intermediate mode. Do you think this problem is worth fixing (since there are no speedruns yet, no harm done)?

Are you sure some of the add-on versions we used aren't available? Can't you download the different revisions? Ravenbridge Mansion might be the exception, though.

(I had originally edited my earlier forum post but I'll post separately so people get a notification.)

Theodore can tell me if there are other ones but generally I think the following could also be changed:

Make Blackhill Mansion, Secret Garden, and Bovine Barnyard 4 laps.
Make Green Valley and High in the Sky 3 laps.

Also have you decided what tracks you're going to leave out of Story Mode? And have you decided on music 🙂?

Yep, I think it would be good to change some of the lap counts on Story Mode. For time trial ILs/default laps I think it should be the same though.

Hmm...Theodore already did a run of Egg hunt. I personally think it's best to leave it where it is. 😉

Also what program did you use to move the egg? Or did you just edit the .xml?

Add-On guides should be fun 🙂.

The huge skips have all been fixed though, so are you saying use the older versions of a couple of tracks?

EDIT: Oh I think I know what you mean now. There's still a somewhat big Shiny Suburbs glitch that I didn't remove since it's more-or-less intentional but it's not like a huge lap glitch or anything. It saves about 5 seconds on average. There used to be a much bigger one, but that one is gone. I don't know if Shiny Suburbs would be better to have-you can look at my run and let me know if you think it's worth including lol.

Subsea has one turn that bounces you upward and another turn that sometimes does so, but other than that it's fine. I'm okay with either including it or not, but if we don't include it there are other tracks with bugs that we might want to address.

For example, The Island lets you drive on the water without being respawned. The Shiny Suburbs shortcut is more broken than I think it's supposed to be. There might be other bugs I'm forgetting. I'll check and let you know if you want 🙂.
