What's the problem to make "Long Live the Queen" as a first category ?
And move ROE, AB, SOD full campaigns to the end (or better to delete them).

Yes, but we speedrun campaigns and campaign maps, and they are refer to different expansion packs (because they are stucked in RoE and AB and its balance).
For me information will be a little more structured, instead of just putting everything related to HOMM3 game in one thread.
Even campaign list will be inconvenient, because there are 20 campaigns in total. It's hard to even remember each name and from what expansion it is.

@NieMaTakiegoDrugiegoNieMaTakiegoDrugiego: Just watched your "Long Live the Queen" speedrun. Is there any way to "invite" DD to GM ? Or just a lot of tries ?
I thought about playing first with map generation to check 5th level spell in towns, and then load game and run it as a speedrun. But not sure this will work. The same thing with Utopias content is you need Air book or Angel Wings.

Hi Adam,

Thanks for your reply!
Yes, the website design changed recently, but I'm in love of speedrunning since I've found Speed Demos Archive website long ago, and want a data to look good here.

I've read HD+ discussion, thanks for a link.
HD+ is an absolutely amazing thing I ever seen in game modding and disallowing its features is a crime. I don't know if you allowed UI.InviteHero or not in result, but as for me it should be legal.
Though I agree that HD+ and vanilla is an absolutely different games. Unfortunately, vanilla is sucks and I see no reason to play it.

Regarding ROE, AB and SOD:
For me it's a totally different games, because they have not only an additional map/campaign packs, they also have some balance changes, AB and SOD have one more fraction, SOD introduced set artifacts (such as AOTD) and many other artifacts changes. They was even created in different years.
Every expansion has 7 campaigns from 3 to 8 missions each and if we will have a cumulative level leaderboard it will contains about 90 individual levels which is too much for one game.
Is there any problems to manage 3 games instead of 1? I'd like to help.

Also suggestion: I think "in-game days" category is a very good idea and should be as an option in the list where "HD+", "No HD+" and "vanilla".
Though I don't understand why "in-game days" category contains info about time. It should have only info about months, weeks and days spent.

UPDATE:
Forgot to mention: players can speedrun not only campaigns and campaign maps, but also a single scenarios (about 30 for each expansion).
This is an argument to dividing game into 3 games.

Thread: Days to win instead of real time?

Started by: woko_kijciwoko_kijci

I agree that in-game days result it is some sort of "high score" and it's not about speedrunning. For the similar reason such game as GeoGuessr is forbidden on speedrun.com because winning criteria is very unclear and random.
Though if people want, I'm fine with such category (category extension, or game, whatever).

Following a link above, I was confused, because I see timed results in "in-game days" category which is really strange.
Time shouldn't be a criteria here.
Just write in-game days instead of time in format: month/week/day instead of hour/minute/second. Less days = better result.

Guys,

First time I'm here and I'm curious on the next things:
1. Why ROE, AB and SOD are the same game? These are the different games. As Warcraft 3: ROC and TFT. Maybe I will make some AB or SOD runs and request a new game.
2. Why "Full game" categories (all campaigns at once) are on the first page? As a new user, I've found this webpage, and I see that Heroes 3 have no runs at all (on the frontpage). If noone runs this, please remove these categories or move them to the end.
3. What does "No HD+" means? I know that "HD+" it's Baratorch's HD mod.
4. For God's sake, remove this sliding background. This looks awful.

Cheers!

Stay awhile and listen!

I'd like to invite you to the tournaments that are organised by Diablo 2 player named Penta with the support of Rus_Brain and GoodGame.ru.

https://goodgame.ru/cups/diablo-ii-resurrected-race-2322
https://goodgame.ru/cups/diablo-ii-resurrected-iron-man-na-dvoih-2334
https://goodgame.ru/cups/diablo-ii-resurrected-iron-man-2323

There are tournament rules that should be followed very carefully. Rules are not finished yet, and I think some of them can be edited / updated before beginning of the race.
Start dates are Sep 23 and Sep 27.

Short description:
1. First tournament is a Race, so you will play a game as a regular speedrun. There are some restrictions in the rules, so pay attention.
2. Second and Third tournament are IRONMAN tournaments (single and party of 2). This game mode is inherited from Diablo 1 and this means that players can't use NPC services (except taking/finishing quests), and can't use quest rewards. There are also some other restrictions, so please read the rules.
Win condition: kill Baal on Hell.

The website GoodGame.ru is in Russian, so with any questions please ask here of the forum, or in the tournament chat (right block on the tournament page). In chat you can use English, not a problem.

Good luck to everyone and let the strongest win!

Thread: Anyone currently running this game?

(edited: )

Hi everyone,

A few weeks ago in a Facebook MS-DOS gaming group one guy remember me of this great game of my childhood.
I instantly downloaded it and start playing. It became very challenging for speedrunning because has some interesting techniques for skipping levels and it's really interesting to manage HP during run.
Then I watched some videos (including current WR by Hexen007) and decided to improve some things in their runs.
I know about door glitch, but it's very random and I still don't know how to achieve this glitch quickly. So I decided just to play glitchless since it is much interesting to pass all levels.

I submit 12:50 time a few moments ago, and waiting from Hexen007 to approve it. Hope it's legit 🙂
My sum of best segments is 12:02, so feel free to beat my record 🙂
It is very crucial to perform jumps above electrical barrier on Level 11 perfectly, because if you fail, you will lose a lot of time (lost about 15 sec in my record).
Also boss fight on Level 7 is a tricky thing, because perfect jump on the elevator will skip dialogue and save you much time.

If it will be interesting for someone, I will share my thoughts about every level on my current record 🙂

Also feel free to use my layout and splits in LiveSplit:

@Hexen007Hexen007: Please add categories for Episode 2 and Episode 3. Haven't played them yet, but I think they also will be interesting to run. So I will try later.
Also you can add "Episode 1 (Glitchy)" category, maybe someone want to try this.
