These lines only work if you're playing as white

Standard Board

5 Move Checkmate

  1. Pawn e3 or e4
  2. Bishop c4
  3. Bishop f7 4.Queen h5
  4. Queen d5

**This is not a guaranteed mate, if black plays Pawn d4 turn 1, you cannot move your bishop to c4. If black plays Knight h6 turn 1, it can capture the Bishop checking the king on f7. If black plays Knight b4 turn 4, it can capture the Queen on d5 that would normally be checkmate. Also if black develops their Queen these lines will usually not work, there may be some rare cases of black developing their Queen to a distant unrelated square and white still being able to use this line. Also, if there is a piece in the way between h5 and d5 on turn 2, the Queen cannot move to d5 to checkmate black. Furthermore, if there are piece(s) in the diagonal between c4 and f7, the bishop cannot move to f7 to check the king. If black plays Pawn h5, the Queen cannot move to h5 because it will be captured by the rook. Lastly, if black checks your king during these 5 moves, you might have to delay it to 6 moves or reset depending on what piece(s) are checking your king and where they are.

5 Move Checkmate

  1. Pawn e3 or e4
  2. Bishop c4
  3. Queen h5
  4. Queen d5
  5. Queen f7

**This is not a guaranteed checkmate. It has similar restrictions to the line mentioned above. If black plays Pawn d4 turn 1, the Bishop cannot move to c4. If black plays Pawn h5 turn 2, the Queen cannot move to h5 turn 2 because the Rook can capture the Queen. If black plays e3 turn 3, the Queen cannot go to d5 on turn 4. If black plays Knight f6 turn 2, the Queen cannot go to h5 on turn 3. Also if there is a piece between h5 and d5 the queen cannot make that move in 1 turn, delaying or preventing this line. Lastly, if black checks your king during these 5 moves, you might have to delay it to 6 moves or reset depending on what piece(s) are checking your king and where they are.

4 Move Checkmate

  1. Pawn e3 or e4
  2. Bishop c4
  3. Queen f3. 4, Queen f7

**This line occurs more rarely than the previous lines but is faster due to the reduction of one move. However, there are a lot more moves that black can play that will delay/stop this line. If black plays Pawn d5 turn 1, you cannot move the bishop to c4. If black plays Knight f6 turn 1, 2, or 3, it blocks your queen from moving to f7 on turn 4. If black plays Knight h6 on turn 1, 2, or 3, it can capture the Queen on f7 that would normally be checkmate. Furthermore, if black plays any piece on the diagonal between c4 and f7 they can prevent the checkmate on turn 4. If black plays Knight d4 turn 2, the Queen cannot move to f3. Also, if there is piece in the f file between f3 and f7 the checkmate is delayed/stopped. Lastly, if black checks your king during these 4 moves, you might have to delay it to 5 moves or reset depending on what piece(s) are checking your king and where they are.

Turn Zero Board

On the turn zero variant, there is also another 4 move checkmate with slim odds of success

4 Move Checkmate

  1. Pawn e3 or e4
  2. Bishop c4
  3. Bishop f7
  4. Queen h5

**This line only works in a very specific scenario. Black needs to move their Pawn off of f7 by Turn 3, otherwise, the Queen's check in the past will be blocked by the pawn on turn 4. This line also has similar restrictions to the other lines mentioned above. If black plays Pawn d5 turn 1, the Bishop cannot move to c4. If black puts a piece on the diagonal between c4 and f7 turn 2, the Bishop cannot move to f7 turn 3. If black plays Pawn h5, the Queen can not go to h5 because it will be captured by the Rook. Lastly, if black checks your king during these 4 moves, you might have to delay it to 5 moves or reset depending on what piece(s) are checking your king and where they are.
