@the_kovicthe_kovic This ruling was reversed by community vote as of 3/6/2022. Everdrive and Wii U VC inject are currently allowed as long as it's done using an officially released rom.

EDIT: Oops, the decision wasn't done via community vote, rather mutual agreeance via discussion amongst runners with no dissention.

Sorry for not replying to this sooner. It is currently not allowed, but we (the mods) are evaluating how it affects the run. The FOV slider included with it certainly won't be allowed to be changed if so.

It's been discussed before, but realistically the community determined that its too hard to define rules for a category like that, it would end up being way too arbitrary in what would and wouldnt be allowed.

Absolutely integrate high scores on the website. I'm sure it's like it with other games, but specifically with the Crazy Taxi series, there are some challenges in the game that are score attack challanges while others are time attack. If high scores and times are split up it would make games like Crazy Taxi super messy. I am 100% for option 1, though I am not opposed to purchasing highscores.com and redirecting to speedrun.com

For instance, you have a file named "AAA" with times and everything unlocked. If you create a new file "AAB" you will still have access to the unlocked cabbies, bikes and times from file "AAA" on the Crazy Box menu screen even if you have file "AAB" loaded

Sorry for the super late response. The reason for this is because unless theyre all blank it will still load data from the other profiles during the run, which effectively does not count as a run from a blank file.

The mods have a round table to determine it. All of us are familiar with what times are possible at what skill levels so if a submitted time is found to be suspect it is brought up and discussed with all mods.

I've been talking to PAC to implement a system where only a WR run would need to be verified but nothing has come of it yet

That website describes the techniques used in the speedrun in great detail, and can be used along with watching some of the Crazy Taxi speedruns available on Youtube to learn the run at the moment. If you have any further questions don't hesitate to ask.

I highly recommend practicing and running on Wii U VC if you have access to that version. You are still able to set up a savestate + multiple save files

Is it possible to add an option to add text to the run submissions page? For instance, I'd like to add something along the lines of "A video is strongly encouraged"

If you want to do Any% or Bingo, N64 NSTC-U is the best version.

If you want to do No Levels Early or 101%, Wii U VC NSTC-U is the best version.

Additionally, judging by your post history, you should reconsider going around to random games you don't speedrun and asking for categories to be added, especially the games with large communities like DK64. Generally, these communities' leaderboards are dictated by the people who have been running the game for years and years and put in countless hours of effort into the game, so doing what you've been doing comes off as pretty rude
