Hey if any moderators see this can we add new catergories for speedruning to smaller numbers like 16,32,64,128,256,512, and 1048. I even found a link that tracks these (https://2048.neiunderscore.com). Some of these would be really cool and very competitive.

Those used to be categories on here but they've since been removed thankfully

Adding on to what Frikkinfriks14 said, the reason why those categories were removed is because it's stupid. You just mash buttons and whoever can do that the fastest basically wins. No actual skill involved. It's also a pain in the butt for the moderators. It is extremely difficult to differentiate between legitimate and illegitimate runs with tiles this small. (For reference, the record for the 1024 tile was around 3 seconds.)

For a bigger challenge, you should try doing runs for the 4096,8192,16384,32768 tiles.

i have an idea. you should make each tile have 2 subsets, one for any% (anything allowed besides hacking) and one for No NKRO also, you could do death% which is die as fast as possible

Death% was one of the categories that was removed a long time ago. As with all the small tile categories, it is also very dumb and takes very little skill. Just mash buttons as fast as you can. It was also probably the hardest category to verify. For reference, people were submitting times of as low as 0.01 second.

With regards to the NKRO keyboard, a "Keyboard" category must, by definition, allow NKRO runs. Only way around that is to create a "Glitchless" category.

game over was another category removed along with the small tiles Edit: I had this tab open for like an hour or two and didn't see eners already mentioned what I said so to add to this, small tiles are extremely easy to abuse lag for really low times which is how I got some "records" when those categories still existed.

Why don't you make categories by score as well? 10k points etc

Because this is site is called "Speedrun.com", not "Highscore.com". If you want to compete for score, check out websites such as 2048masters.
