Thread: Why do the forums seem so dead?

This site is total horse shit, it feels like the people that run it are mentally deficient, and I started university. So I only log on and check the forums once a week or something

Thread: Add custom flair box to your profile

But pronouns actually have reason to exist, you dont have to assume, you just read 2 to 6 words and problem solved. a custom """""""""""""""flair""""""""""""""" box would probably be useful if it wasn't added.

Flairs are objectively better than pronouns. With a flair, you can express yourself however you want. Pronouns limit you to 3 choices in a dropdown menu. This is a feature that already existed back when we had custom pronouns, but ELO hates fun so of course those got patched out. If you still want your pronouns, just put them in your flair!

Still relevant.

Or we can go all out and have custom CSS. Before someone says "OMG HORRIBLE IDEA PEOPLE WILL TROLL!!!!!" just remember that nothing is stopping me from setting my current profile theme to Riley Reid getting gangbanged by 8 BBCs.

As someone that uses forums all the time, I have never felt that signatures "break up the flow of a thread" before. The only time this is really an issue is when people have obsessively large and animated signatures, but you can just disallow multimedia in signatures and problem solved.

Also pretty please stop using this god awful font. It gives me serious gaming laptop vibes. It's like we're trying to appeal to the edgy 12 year old that just discovered what a CPU is.

While I am 100% in favor of removing comments, I think this is a pretty poor argument. Comments are not magically opening a pandoras box to 18+ content, you can still expose minors to that stuff through profile themes, your profile picture, your run video, DMs, etc.

In fact it's actually better if it happens in run comments because you won't even get notified of it, and idk about others but I never go to my old runs after I've submit them.

The real solution is to support actual moderation

I mean it took for me 24 hours to take effect. Which is super dumb and stupid. Caching hooray

It's been almost 48 hours for me and I'm still waiting.

Too be fair to them, there are a lot of forum posts requesting the addition of run comments

Thanks for this, I've gotten tired of having to create new CSS for every update 😛

There would be nothing wrong imo with comments on runs if the actual runner could moderate them

Also what lol? The forums are incredibly neglected, so should effort be spend on "increasing the social aspect beyond just the forums" when people keep asking for effort to be spent on the forums

I am no longer going to be a mod here.

The site is shit, the owners are a pain to communicate with, and they do everything I don't want them to do.

Goodbye.

I second what @HiHi said. Every update seems to have like 0 bug testing done and we always manage to find bugs and break the site within minutes. I would gladly be a beta tester even if its just free labor in my free time.

No. Even before ELO when the ads were only for logged out users and not nearly as intrusive the site still did a piss poor job at using all the screen space. ELO simply repurposed it to violate its users.

Also could we please get a way to disable others being able to see statistics about us such as what games we follow and how often we visit each leaderboard? There is no reason why that needs to be public information.
