PSR = Pokemon Speedrun for any newbies

United Stateschillmagic4205 years ago

oh i misread your question, you have to actually look at the nido stats and enter them into the program. You arent allowed to use something that just read the game and tells you the stats. Thats using a bot to assist in the speedrun pretty much.

Pokemon Red Helper can be found under the Resources tab. That will show you male nido stats and what I used when I played red classic. You dont really need that anymore since the current route has a manipulation to give you a perfect DV male nido. Also they are called DVs in gen 1, not IV.

I suggest reading the rules under the speedrun you want to do. Many answers will be found.

There are rules for each category that you can click and read. However, in classic save + quit is allowed, but you cannot hard reset (only soft reset). manips only work from a hard reset, so there are no manips on classic.

There is zero chance your iphone and that emu is going to emulate the game accurately enough for it be accepted.

Look at the side bar, "Guides" "Resources"

I doubt anyone would ever complete that run it is to long and nearly impossible it sounds like.

Other issues is you are talking about using save states and emulator only to do the run. Emu is very inaccurate and using save states in a speedrun should never be allowed.

Also the idea of transferring pokemon can bring in all sorts of issues.

He did the hard reset and seems to be using correct emu, but im not going to watch the whole video to find out why it was rejected. Probably a good reason though they wouldnt reject it for nothing.

United Stateschillmagic4206 years ago

Most of the fakes are literally just flash carts with the ROM version on them (aka what you download and use on emu). So yeah they should work for speedruns. Interesting question though, ive never owned one so I cant say if it plays totally the same.

"Runs must be done on English version." per the rules. This is because different languages change the length of time due to characters per text box. I know JPN text is faster than ENG, but not sure on German. But yeah it has to be done in english becuz of text variations leading to faster or slower times.

Firstly, he didnt blame the game, and secondly dont listen to that guy he doesnt even have a PSR time.

Manips are very tricky to learn and take a lot of practice to get it down exactly. Just have to keep trying it over and over. Another thing that helps is imagine you are picking up an item on the tile you need to press A during the manip. You can actually press it before stepping onto the tile and hold it, then release A while on the tile.

IT is allowed again. First time you get it is after you take the pokecenter in cerulean city, then you pick up the rare candy and fight nugget bridge with IT. The next time you get it is before misty.

I cannot talk to the point being made but I am learning this run on real hardware. I was wondering if the difference between emu and hardware is known at all?
