Shots Fired is a marathon for shooter games. This will be our fourth marathon.

Why is the registration in USD for an event at a hotel in Canada?

The current record had a video when it was submitted. The second-place time was also a past broadcast.

If you'd like to improve your time, I would suggest trying to skip every fight. Some of the fights are skippable. There's also a three year old run with a video that is 20 minutes faster than yours.

Sorry that the videos aren't available, but I can't do anything about that. We can require video proof in the future, sure.

Hey everyone! This is the first feedback thread we’ve done, and we would love to hear your input. Here are a few topics we’re interested in hearing about, but feel free to speak anything on your mind.

Submissions and Scheduling • How long do you think submissions should last? Is three weeks enough? • Which method of submitting do you prefer: Google Docs, SDA, Speedrun.com? • Would you prefer to submit your availability when submitting games, or closer to the marathon dates?

Games Selection • What games do you think fit the theme of Shots Fired? Should we continue including some ‘alternative shooters’ like Pokémon Snap and Fatal Frame, or should we be more strict? What should the limits be?

Layouts • How do you feel about the layouts, and how could they be improved?

Streaming • Do you prefer streaming to Beam or Hitbox?

Moving Forward • Currently, we are planning two Shots Fired Marathons per year. Would you prefer one a year, or is two good? • Do you have any ideas for what else we should do with the channel in-between marathons? • We currently do not accept donations. Would you prefer to accept donations for a charity, or for another reason like getting runners to events, or to stay as we are?]

Shots Fired is an online speedrunning marathon designed to feature shooter games. These games always have a small representation in other marathons, but here we can include a significantly larger amount. Currently, we plan to have two online marathons a year.

Milliseconds are now enabled. I had it disabled previously because of the human error in timing manually, but since you guys are the active runners and want it, alright.

You probably need either a disc or a torrented version of the game.

You have to be playing on a very early patch of the game or Gandohar cannot not die.

I'm not sure if this has been brought up before, but I absolutely hate the way the marathons section currently looks. Would it be possible to clean it up by deleting marathons awhile after they finish? This would help greatly with seeing what marathons are upcoming. I don't see much point to having marathons that are long over stay up.

Game Name: Two Worlds System: PC Category: All Main Quests Gameplay Estimate: 1:15:00 Ending/Bonus Estimate: 5:00 Possible Donation Incentives: Speedrun of Any% Sample run video: Description: The Any% category of Two Worlds was run at this past ESA by Nikneim, instead of finishing the game in a few minutes AMQ plays through the main quest. There are multiple skips such as jumping over a gate, climbing up a mountain, killing an NPC after completing his quest to get double the reward, killing an NPC to skip his quest chain, and ultimately killing the final three enemies at level 9. Availability: Should be available any day/time.

Game Name: Wrack System: PC Category: Any% (Casual) Gameplay Estimate: 22:00 Ending/Bonus Estimate: Possible Donation Incentives: Sample run video: Description: Heavily influenced by Doom, Wrack is a fast-paced shooter that adds arcade elements and an interesting aesthetic. Straferunning is used in combination with quickly killing enemies in order to build combos used to blast through enemies. Skips involve boosting on top of enemies to skip sections, rocket jumps, and clipping through walls. I just ran this at AGDQ. Availability: Should be available any day/time.

Why is there a NG+ Nightmares category when having ranks in that category does not give you anything extra? You don't get to select guns, skills etc. I think it's dumb to have NG+ categories in general, as well as that idiotic first prestige category, let alone to set them as misc so that they don't show up on profiles.

pointless to have freerun courses leaderboard when there's an ingame leaderboard. add a co-op category please

Here's an example of what I'm seeing:

The top part is the tabs in my browser and the bottom is the correct images being displayed only in my profiles info section, not on the games page itself.

Having a couple issues with the Favicons setting when changing a games theme:

1. If you go to my profile (http://www.speedrun.com/user/Shaddex/info) and look at the icon for The Wheel of Time and compare it to the icon currently active on the theme (http://www.speedrun.com/wot), they are different. The favicon curently selected in the theme is the one active on my profile, however it seems to be defaulting to the original favicon I tried out before altering it.

2. If I upload a new favicon to the Two Worlds page, it defaults back to the original image I uploaded, even after deleting or editing it.

It seems like once you put an image up, the site saves that image and you can't change it, even after deletes or edits. Not sure if this is only viewable on my end, or on others as well.

Considering the mod for Freedom Fighters was last online two days ago, I'd suggest at least giving him the benefit of a doubt by waiting a couple days. His twitch is linked in his profile, so I'd also suggest at least trying to contact him via twitch message as well. Not sure what you mean by the leaderboard being worth having a picture of the game, as it already has a picture of the game. As for not being able to add a run time without verification, that's how the vast majority of the leaderboards on this site work; it's to prevent false times and cheating.

Many runners use the same splits as others for the sole purpose of comparisons, especially as splits are commonly separated into different levels, load-zones, checkpoints, or significant events. It would obviously not be a requirement to submit splits; it would simply be an efficient way of implementing a feature currently somewhat available but never used. I would love to see the integration of other speedrunning-centric websites into a site such as this, and splits.io has zero downsides and many clear benefits. Hope this gets considered and supported in the future!
