The timing you have to select the power varies about 4 frames in KSSU, not sure if the same rule applies here but I would imagine as such. The wheel as it slows down also has the same button press window for powers despite the slower speed, making it harder. Even so, most powers you'll need to mix for can be done by holding b + down + a as you mix.

Another example discussed previously is with mGBA which loads rooms much faster. Needless to say this should not be used for your runs due to how significant the differences are

The following thread if for loading times calculated to be different between riders heroes story run on various versions. Timing for these was done when you hit start game or next track and ended when the blue mission objective disappeared.

Hello there, thanks for posting your thoughts. I'd like to say that gaming in general and the way it's communicated is easily and understandably confused, much like anything else. Another example I'd say is genres we named. "First person shooter" was fairly popular back in the day and has gone into "first person" nowadays with the advent of games like portal. Words and terminology is just something that one adapts to depending on the medium, much like with skilled jobs and trades. While you're not wrong, the group that gives them that meaning is also right, so it's best to understand that and move along exploring the fun the hobby has to offer.

DS lite is also unable to use capture card modifications. You'll need to use DS original for a capture card, new 3ds or use a camcorder.

Important to note this doesn't impact times for Meta Knightmare Ultra due to ingame timing being consistent for 3DS and New 3DS.

With due respect moelle your intentions are good but your analogy is simply inaccurate. The fact of the matter is that VBA has multiple revisions and versions with different purposes such as recording, multiplayer, and redos to the coding. This complicates things of course, but no version of VBA is accurate in emulating gameboy games; there are frame inaccuracies compared to consoles and programming errors aren't correctly emulated in some cases. Dedicated gameboy emulators are superior in accuracy the main two being BGB and Gambatte. Making it easy for runners unaware to get the emulator and submit with is is very important.

Hello, about 2 weeks ago Guinness world records released their 2017 version of their gamer's edition book. In this edition there were various mentions of Games Done Quick, speedrun.com and Speed Demos Archive as well as twin galaxy records. I've recorded nearly every mention of speedrunning in the form of screenshots and scans of pages. If this is not acceptable by the staff of SDA, speedrun.com or Guinness please let me know and I'll remove it or feel free to remove this on your own. The question with IL's is should we use IGT for these?

Yes we can certainly add categories for the other 2 times. Only thing so I myself am not versed with episode 2 or the timings for it.

There is a lot of advanced tech to this game. Depends on the console you run. I recommend checking out my tutorial video for the game's any% category then watching a video from the category you're interested in.

Had this happen to me in the form of a glitch at first. Following this I made a video with documentation on how this could potentially be used.

Some brief documentation on the TAS used 2-3 clip. Credits to callumbal for his own documentation (feel free to elaborate further here) and jesusftb for first pulling off the glitch. I may add images to this later on.

SML Out of Bounds glitch: 2-3 skip

What it is: It's a glitch that allows you to wrap around the screen in Super Mario Land. In 2-3 a very specific setup is needed to get past the barrier for the stage exit to save around 3 seconds.

3rd pillar, last block on the end above the 1 unit gap.

Set yourself up so that you're in line with or slightly below the block

At the middle gap of the sub press down+left for a small window and shoot the block in front of you after you're wrapped around.

When the clock goes to 268 alternate between down and left quickly. You should then hit the goal.

What can go wrong:

Incomplete wrap: you don't wrap around the screen fully before the block is broken, a second timeloss, failed trick.

Shot wrap: Shot gets screenwrapped, failed trick.

Too early, hold left for too long: hit the seahorse, lose mushroom, failed trick.

Different location: can appear above the breakable blocks and goal switch, slight time loss.

Too late: can appear behind goal, failed trick, minutes of timeloss.

Nonexistent coins can be collected offscreen.
