Super meat boy segmented 106% speed run project

Hey there !

I have been working on a way to make a community based super meat boy segmented 106% speedrun, I now have a script that can cut every segment frame perfectly and put them together. The idea is, every time someone uploads a new segment, we can automatically put the run together again. Each level completion, menuing and level transition is a segment. We'd be very glad to have people submitting individual levels and level transitions.

Here's a test that I made with it (I know I did 1-5 transition wrong): .

If you want to submit a segment, fill this form http://bit.do/supermeatboy100form There are about 700 segments, every contribution is very welcome, even if it's just a menu transition. Segments have to be done with meat boy in high detail, 720p (1280¤720), 60fps, mp4 container and h264 codec. Game sound has to be on and game music+ all other audio has to be off.

Spawn jumps, timer glitches and autojumps are all allowed but they have to be consistent with all other segments.

Each normal level segment starts when timer hits 0.01 or 0.02, and ends on the last frame where timer is visible, Transition levels start the first frame when timer is no longer visible and end the frame before timer hits 0.01. Submitting timestamps with a submission is encouraged but optional. Avidemux 2.6 is recommended for checking timestamps.

Segments will be stored on a hubic account and available to public.

Current route might get improved in the future, but it'll be easy to update. Improvement suggestions are also welcome.

Wanted to add that if anyone thinks of any spawn jump opportunities could they mention them too, for instance I think 3-16 is probably worth it where in a SS run its impractical, its very difficult to think of all these.

Very good idea !! I suppose every segment must be do without blood on walls? may be it could be interesting to impose a capture software (fraps?) and encoding settings?

Imposing a capture software is unessesary (and fraps isn't supposed to be free :p), and about the blood on the wall, I'm not sure, might be a lot to ask.

While I personally agree with removing randomness from these, its contentious in the community and I was wondering if this affects the game in other ways cos until we agree I don't know if we can tell who is running with or without for ss. Obviously its great for the segmented just wondering if there's a way to tell if someone is using in ss.

Theres a link to a bandage save file for doing naija bandage runs, didnt follow the exact route, was a converted dark ending unfortunately so if you are looking to do warps you might want to do any any% or something but just handy for anyone who wants to do the bandages, of course i highly recommend suiciding runs that you know you dont want to take anyway, you usually have plenty of warning.
