I managed to make ToyZ missions more interesting, but they're still boring. At least this essentially skips having to do a vehicle rampage (or maybe more?)
"Timing starts upon gaining control of your character after the first loading screen and ends upon crossing the finish line of the final race against Nitrous Oxide. "
Judging by what we say in the rules, starting as soon as you gain control is right. When in doubt, just watch someone else's run and compare the timing with those, provided that person itself is using the correct method.
I sorted this out by asking Kabukiman to fix it for me. He says the feature to dump games in a series is only enabled for global mods. I could swear it was an option for me as well just a few weeks ago but that apparently changed.
For some reason I am not able to do that. I wanted to dump 2 Dragon Ball games in the DB series and I don't get an option anywhere. I am a super-mod in both, the games and te DB series in itself.
I am down to do this once I have worked out when I have time OpieOP
How about a "Show misc categories" button on profiles too? Those categories are typically not exactly the most important ones and shouldn't necessarily be seen by default, right? Not sure about rom hacks/mods being there by default either, but maybe I am just nitpicking.
Another thing I could think about is the "time in milliseconds" checkbox. You cannot seperate these for ILs and full game runs and in most cases it would probably be preferred to have full runs without milliseconds unless we're talking about really short games. Reason I am bringing that up is the tons of submissions I get with milliseconds in games where we don't really need milliseconds in the times but have the box checked due to ILs.
Not 100% true actually. Somehow you can trigger the taxi glitch even if you have loaded the game. I just don't know exactly how or why. This sounds like I am saying this with no basis but I have actually triggered it on a loaded file. SolarBowler has done it as well before me.
I just need to figure out what makes it work on the loaded file and what doesn't.
On another note, I am pretty sure the extra ammo is actually as good as useless in a 100% run so it doesn't matter anyway. But nice find.
Dear Spy Fox mods, you are missing "Spy Fox in Cheese Chase" and "Spy Fox in Hold the Mustard". Please add the games BORT
This is the whole reason why TASing is interesting and how it works. It's the entire point. Should have been clear from the very beginning. Good Crash Ball round regardless, but the Jap version is slower.
Well we all know that this exact trick completely changed Vice City and it exists in this game too. Unfortunately the time saves are rather minimal and you are sacrificing a potentially useful Cop Bribe replay for this, but it does save multiple seconds in quite a few spots, such as the Rampage you can find close to the flamethrower in Trial By Fire etc. While this may be just a small time saver it isn't less considerable than the other replay tricks we have. I mean 30k Rocket Launcher ammo is not really going to save too much time anywhere apart from 3 Vans either, as an example. I will start thinking of more tricks that could save some time in 100%.
It's okay as an arbitrary "just4fun" category but it can not considered a typical speedrunning category like the classic any% and 100% categories from my point of view.
