It is because no one cares about Digital. It's not an official disk, and therefore gives numerous advantages/disadvantages.

yea originaly everyone's game is the phisical idk what comes around digital realy but is more of emulators stuff

I really don’t know, since it would be the better version to run on. Probably because we started on disc and people want to keep it that way

Well it’s also worth noting that the digital version of NSMBW was only released in Japan and Europe, so playing that version on an American Wii U would require some hacking.

Toogs is very right, there's especially low motivation to go to the trouble of getting VC when theres no competition anyway

And also because Wii U and 3DS' Nintendo eShop discontinues in March of next year.

So that explains why I'm still waiting for a run on Cannonless Digital lmao.

I think most people just have the disk, because most people bought the game for their wii

Because of the input delay and difficulty of obtaining the copy, as well as minimal competition

Summary of why people don’t use it

• Not a 100% authentic version of the original disk version

• No competition on leaderboards

• Input Delay

• Asia and Europe exclusive

I might do digital runs at some point in the future but I just don’t feel like doing that right now because I like playing on the physical category.

Also I don’t always record my runs because I don’t have good speedrunning gear yet since I’m not that old if you get what I mean.
