And I don't see how spawning a stick in Arctic Caverns would warrant a new category, that's a just a new trick in the regular run.

Just make a new category, Any%, and put this run in it. Rename the old category No Credit Warp. There, problem solved. This is what happens when a credit warp is found, it's not that big of a deal. There's no point in comparing this run with the others directly.

The issue isn't that we don't believe you got that time, I'm sure you did since people PB in the practice room occasionally. It's simply that nowadays it pretty much goes without saying that in order to claim a time, you need video proof, be it from a digital recording or even filming from your phone.

If you don't want to be mod, I can do it. I do have experience with the game, I have casually raced it with Kyh, 2wogood and others, hence why were are interested in seeing that any runs on the board have a video.

Who decides if a runner has a good reputation or if the witnesses are of high enough caliber? That sounds like some Twin Galaxies garbage. So you made a mistake and weren't recording in the practice room, oh well, you put your best recorded run up there. Why would you insist on having a run with no video, when you have a run that is only 8 seconds slower actually recorded, if you are truly interested in drumming up interest for the game? Just seems odd.

It's a pretty simple solution, just put your recorded run up instead, and there is no issue.

Why is there a top score category when it's a racing game that has a finite amount of tracks? Like if you don't want to actually play the game then you just move on instead of making a lame category for fake WRs. The actual racing categories should be the main category and not an arbitrary top score one, I seriously don't get the point.

I don't see how remapping extra buttons can be seen as anything other than cheating. Explicitly and knowingly adding double inputs to intentionally gain an advantage over console users seems to be a really shady practice. You can't do it on original hardware, it shouldn't be allowed.

What does me running a game have to do with recognizing dumb categories? And I mean it's not slander if it's true.

PAL is just a meaningless category, requested by someone that wanted a free "WR". There's a reason no other boards have PAL categories, because running the PAL version is pointless for almost every game, including this one. At the very most it should be a Misc category but I don't see the point. PAL runs are just a meme, they don't need their own category.

Seems odd to make PAL it's own category when it has no actual gameplay differences. It's the same game, just because someone chooses to run the slower version of a game doesn't mean it should have it's own category.

People don't typically run the PAL versions of games, as they are almost always about 17% slower, with a few exceptions like Blaster Master because it is super broken.

You are welcome to start a Ninja Gaiden Category Extensions board if you want a place for you meme/challenge runs to reside.

It has been removed as it doesn't really fit with the board. Anyone is welcome to start a Ninja Gaiden Category Extension board as a place to put all the meme categories, but they don't really need to be cluttering up the main board.

Why is turbo allowed for this game when literally every other NES game doesn't not allow it? Because you don't want to mash during the space section?

Turbo is not allowed in other games because it gives an unfair advantage against people that don't have turbo. Not sure why this board is different.

I have thought about running this game, but I probably won't because using turbo goes against the spirit of speedrunning. If you can't handle the mashing then you probably shouldn't run the game imo.
