i will let you guys know - currently we are trying to resubmit the runs with the available information to be verified again, via the api available. unfortunatly the logs are not giving out the information on the category, run time and date of the run... these things will have to be adjusted by checking the runs one by one

currently there is no runs, that get close to using the classic -> convert to LOD strat. Apart from hell p8 sorcs? Runners are attempting those runs, but in my opinion this is something that will result in no time save.

There are multiple reasons for that: a) Runewords are a pretty crucial part for most of the speedruns b) You still have to reach lvl 60 in order to complete the game, since you have to kill the hell ancients anyways. This potentioally leaves you with issues on where to lvl your character.

For these reasons I personally believe that this strategy will turn out to be unusable.

In the end we have come up with a set of "game rules" which generally allows this strategy. Hopefully we didn't leave open too many holes in those rules.

We made changes to the game rule set which disallows the patching of the game during a run. There are too many issues that make it difficult to allow.

Specifically patching to the 1.14 version in which the folder of save files gets placed in a different location on your computer.. this would force you to manually take the save files to that new location.

Alright... All the runs, to the best of my knowledge, have been restored to the Any% normal category... Please check if your runs are categoriesed correctly since this was all manual work...

Also: If you have time, please correct the Date of the run aswell, by editting the run. Please note that in the comment since this has to be verified again!

Looking through it on my end... It looks like there are no runs from augst 2015 and before... I am not sure why those are missing... If you want you can resubmit those if you'd like

in the process of changing the rule sets i made a crucial mistake which accidentally deleted the full normal any% categorie. Apparently there is no way to use a rollback for this type of mistake.

All the runs are still stored in a history log, in which all the necessary runner information seems to be stored.

yeah... deleting a full category by accident hurts tho... sometimes this page is not really that intuitive xD

if the gaps are under 1-2 minutes that is usually fine for us. so you can submit your runs with those partial videos keep in mind that this doesnt mean you can do segmented runs however - those are for speeddemoarchive ;)

Recordings are enough - as long as it stays 1 sitting for the recording

Splits are highly apreaciated even though it is possible to time it without... Highly suggest you get livesplit still.

You only can control what they choose to show you on the stream You can not control what they actually have on their screens at home. Diablo Interface is out there and there is no way to make it disappear.

@swordbreaker For more then 3.5 years I am speedrunning here and there is more then enough examples in other games where the "fastest" run is not the very first you see. How do you determine the value of a hell vs a normal speedrun? Should the hell or the normal world record be displayed? Should the HC or SC time be displayed first?

Also we just recently added players x and players 8 with the goal of giving them the recognition runners are looking for. Indreks run just popped up today and you expect us to change everything? Do you really expect us to react to every single development in the game by changing up the way everything is displayed? Should we have started by displaying a completly empty category just because we KNOW that it MUST be faster? (and yes we all KNOW that players x MUST be faster) There is a lot of ways to go even faster than players x -> with the -act 5 start parameter.

I am starting to get a feeling a lack of recognition for the work we do here to make these leaderboards somewhat clean. And I still have yet to hear anyone volunteering to take over some of these jobs.

I know you have a strong personality and you try to have a good impact on the diablo community as a whole, but as long as you are not doing speedruns yourself, try to not attack us every chance you get.

The goal of Diablo Interface and the twitch extension was to provide the viewers a way to see the important things in that happen in the speedrun.

As far as I know the twitch extension had a set goal to replace the interface completly (apart from the auto split function). Unfortunately I haven't heard from the creator of the extension in a while. That's why we are currently stuck in a semi-optimal situation with a lot of programs running.

We can't control what people have displayed on their screens. That and the constant questions from the viewers for the items and current stats is the main reason why we allowed it in the first place. (My opinion) I personally have the Diablo Interface running but minimized so I don't see it myself.

In my opinion the best solution would be all the current information from Diablo Interface moving into the extension with a way to configure which runes you are looking for without a fix output on the streamer display. That way the runner would have to activly have his own stream open to view the stuff. As I said there is no way to control this stuff 100%. We can only limit it.

LaV and I have talked a lot about how to implement the over and over upcoming requests of Players x and Players 8 as a category. We have come to the conclusion that a leaderboard with subcategories for those is the only viable option. Which we now have implemented. Thanks to @fuzziboy who supported me in editing every single run (almost 900 runs in total) into the new subcategories. For those that already have runs in the categories that have been added, feel free to submit them from now on!

We stick to the same procedure concerning the amount of checking that we do on each run. It is impossible to watch every run 100% to ensure there is no changing of the player-settings. Which means we partially rely on you to report any wrongly assigned runs to us on discord, this forum-thread or via twitch.

I hope with these changes to the leaderboards we have met most of the recent requests about these categories. There always has to be some sort of compromise here and there is a way to compare the categories with each other by just switching between them.

For the future: If there is any thoughts of new categories that you want us to implement. Please have an open mind that we might your ideas not because we don't like it but mostly because there won't be too many people interested in them. With the new system we can definetly fit in more categories if necessary.

I don't think there is a lot of people that are interested in this to be honest.

Not only does it go against the purpose of speedrunning by randomly limiting yourself (same as the pacifist run). It also seems extremly boring to punch monsters for days untill you get a skill to improve your punching.

for the livesplit topic -> you can change the "order" on your obs scenes:

• Right click on the livesplit capture
• there is an option to change order
• put on top there
