How to frame count

I want to know how to frame count so I can figure out what my time is down to the millisecond. Is there some kind of formula or simply downloading something.

Appreciate the help!

virtualdub allows you to see the amount of frames that you've recorded and afaik to get the time you need you take all frames and divide it by fps.

i might be wrong about the formula, so wait for hte confirmation

What console are you using? Some games have native counters, and Steam has an FPS counter now: http://ccm.net/faq/40667-steam-display-the-in-game-fps-counter

Yeah Mekarazium is correct. All you need is a video program that shows the length of the video in frames (I use Avidemux personally). Then you find the first frame where the run starts and the final frame where the run ends.

As an example, if I have a run that starts on frame 15 and ends on frame 4015, I would do 4015-15 and divide that by the FPS of my recording which is 29.97 for standard def stuff. That'll give me the total seconds of the run and then I can just use basic math or any online converter to turn it into the standard hh:mm:ss format.
