Playing PAL PS1 games on NTSC Slim PS2 77K

There are a few PAL PS1 games (Namely Jinx and Jersey Devil) that I would like to have the benefit of FDS to run them. However, I don't believe I can run PAL PS1 games on my NTSC PS2. I don't want to do the tissue and straw mod because the last time I did that I broke my previous PS2. I also don't want to get a modchip because god knows I would botch that too. So I am looking for a fairly risk free way of doing this.

As far as I know, there is no way to play games from a different region on your PS2 without modding it to run with swap magic. You either have to do the tissue and straw method or install a flip top.

As a side note, running PAL on NTSC and vice versa usually has some strange side effects (messed up sound among others) or at least it does for older games, I know nothing about PAL PS2 on NTSC PS2.

ok i'll get a flip top. it's cheaper than buying a PAL PS2 and power converter

You might get a FMCB memory card. Doesn't require soldering with the console and you can play region locked games and backups. Though it's incompatible with some slim PS2 models.
