Glitchless Questions

Been doing glitchless runs and I have a few questions.

In LiveSplit, I see that there is an auto split for Doom. I activated it and my in-game time is getting logged, but I noticed in BlackChaos' run, it is in real time with loading screens and menuing. I didn't see anything specifically in the rules on timing so I am not too sure what the proper timing method is, but have been assuming real time. Is that correct? I mainly ask because there's like a 6 minute difference between my real time and game time.

My other question is on the final GK. Rule states the timer ends when the GK is performed. Is that as soon as the GK starts or when it ends? Again, I only see BlackChaos' run so I am assuming everything he did in that run is now set in stone, but I just want to make sure so I split properly. I thought I understood the rules, but just finished watching his run this morning on my commute and saw the late split.

We have an auto-splitter tool that pauses during load screens that is used to help process the times for in-game time. You can post either time, but generally it's the in-game time that determines the run's speed.

Time is on the start of the Spider Mastermind GK.

Excellent! Thanks for the answers.

Are there any old skips that people know about that would be useful in the glitchless run (example: The gauss boost to skip most of the destroyed argent facility)? I'm looking through the old speedruns from 7/8 months ago, but if anyone's been around longer and remembers them let me know. Thanks.

Also, is there a solid definition for OOB in open areas? I ask because I'm looking around for stuff. I have one area specifically to ask about but general rules would be useful. Below are two (similar) skips that I was wondering about (whether or not they qualify as OOB).

Clip 1: Even though this is very similar to Clip 2, you are not standing ontop of any boundarys or anything, so as long as you can clearly jump there i think this is probably legit.

Clip 2 @ 0:38 this is the moment where you went OOB.

Ok. It's tough to say outside. I figured it might be where you can see textures change (you can clearly see lower quality if you travel a bit off the wall). But I'll try and go with just "staying above the map" I guess? Clip one only felt weird because you grab an invisible wall but you're not going through any walls and it's over the map.

Merging of Any% sub-categories.

Hey everyone,

For anyone who is not in the MDSR Discord:

We have decided to merge the sub-category 'difficulties' for Any%: Classic/Nightmare/Ultra-Nightmare. This is mainly due to recent developments in the Any% run and Ultra-Nightmare now technically being the fastest difficulty to run Any%
