Hello Speedrun.com, I'm not really sure what to put here. I'm new to the speedrunning scene, but I have always loved speedruns. The first run I ever saw was the AGDQ speedrun of Half Life 2 by SovietWaffle. After seeing that, I fell in love with SourceRuns. I picked the name NostalgiaRunner, as it is a portmanteau, meaning I run games that are nostalgic to me. Mainly games from my childhood / early teen years. The games I run / plan to run are, "Half Life: 2" or "Portal", "G-Force: The Video Game", and possibly the long forgotten "Wild Wheels".

My friend (illdiewithouttau) and I have spent over a year and a half preparing to speedrun "G-Force: The Video Game". As of 2 days ago, we have routed and completed 2/5 of the game.

The whole idea of us running part of the game, was to advertise the game, and try to recruit other speedrunners to help run the game with us. We are going for a segmented WR, and aim to make it to SGDQ eventually with a non-segmented run. I encourage anyone who is remotely interested in running the game with us, to contact me. I have 3 copies of the game to give away to those who want to help us. You can contact me here. http://steamcommunity.com/id/NostalgiaRunner

In short, the Half Life: 2 run at AGDQ was what started it all. G-Force is why I do it. I hope to make everyone's acquaintance here, and help where and when I can.

May your splits be short, and your ranking high. -NR

Also, happy 4th to anyone in America!

Hey, welcome to speedrun.com! I mostly play 2D platformers.

Never knew there was a video game based on the movie. Will probably get it because guinea pigs (gotta live up to my avatar!). Looks like it's easy to speedrun, but it also seems the cutscenes are unskippable, which sounds boring. Would probably be the kind of game I'd chill run to (chilling and speedrunning can be done at once, no?).

This is the best introduction ever.

I'm happy to announce that TreyLina is now part of our team. Yay! I still have 2 copies of the game, if others still want to join us.

What kind of categories do you plan to run ? For Half-Life 2, Old Engine and New Engine are totally different. Same for OoB/Inbounds/Legacy/Glitchless (the last one is a pun) in Portal, it's very different. I invite you to join the Portal speedrunning Discord and the SourceRuns Speedrunning Discord to be updated with the Source news.

What's up Glaedr and Deln?

@PackSciences Oh sorry. I forgot to mention that. :P I plan on running new engine. Old engine is okay to me, but I already know a bunch of the techniques from new engine. I can prop-climb, teleport, and somewhat ABH. I need to get better at that. I'm still on the fence on whether to do Portal or Half Life 2. I think Half Life 2 would be more fun. Since there already are a lot of OOB and inbounds runs of Portal out there. I don't really have the time to get good. Plus I found HL2 more fun than Portal. I might eventually run Portal: Prelude though, since I have a history with it.
