So hi, I'm new to the speedrunning scene as you may have guessed. Just a quick question which would be do I have to stream or can I record and then add the visuals I want? My plan is Gambatte emu for a run at Pokemon Blue. I have some visuals I set up (for team and badges etc. and moving onto E4) which won't show on a stream. Actually thinking through this I could just stream with a different overlay? I dunno advice? Thanks and GL to everyone!

Welcome to the community!! To answer your question: You are not required to stream, but it is recommended that you at least record your runs, so you can give proof of your times. (Many game leaderboards will reject your run if you claim to get a certain time, but you have no video proof. That way we don't have any false WR's). In terms of visuals, what exactly were you thinking? (Out of curiosity).

Visuals wise I started with a basic Nuzlocke theme but scrapped my first run (trying Pokemon so got to about Gym 4 by time current record was up ._.) might try something a little easier and a more speed run focused visual, with splits of the current record and so on.
