Creating this thread mainly because of the Genesis version having cutscene-ish thing between the moment you hit "proceed" and the moment first mission actually starts. Having that happen 9 times in a full game run can definitely make quite a difference. (i'm also not sure, but overall menuing on MS-DOS version seems faster to me as well) As a solution to this i suggest creating subcategories for those two versions of the game. (idk anything about Amiga version, so can't comment on that)
ILs, on the other hand, can stay the way i suggested in my current Harkonnen mission 1 IL submission comment, because that timing way is probably how in-game time actually works as well.
Also whatever the outcome of this is gonna be, it should actually be presented in the game rules, imo.
The boards could either stay as they are for now or have two columns for each platform. If you feel they're not very comparable I can make the column for both. At some point I'll add the missions from Schemax's full-game runs to the IL boards.
I saw that the Genesis and MS-DOS versions end the missions differently. DOS has a splash while Genesis has a mini plane cutscene. I'd set the IL timing between when you gain and lose control (which is what you did already) similar to other RTS games. I'll mention it in the rules.
Oh, and I added the rest of the individual missions. That should have been done long ago.
Imo, Genesis and DOS version are two different games, so it might be better to get two different boards all together. They run on different engines. The controls are different, the menu is different. it doesn't really make much sense to compare the two.
It's kinda like like comparing gameboy contra with NES contra.
I agree with schemax, but it shouldn't matter much until more console times are posted. Considering Amiga version, it's more similar with DOS, possibly slightly slower.
Did some mod updates since I've been slacking on the Dune series as a whole. I'll be getting around to fixing it up soon™.
