So my country is set to United Kingdom and the Region is set to England. On my profile it shows the England flag, meanwhile on the leaderboards it shows the UK flag.

I will happily fly the Union Jack next to my name on the leaderboards with pride, but it would be fantastic if the England Flag could be displayed instead like it does on my profile.

I understand this is a minor thing but it would absolutely improve my user experience in a major way.

The general idea is that usually, country flags are much more recognisable than region flags, so it's much easier to see a person's nationality when looking at the leaderboards.

Recognizability is important, but accuracy is just as important. I've been saying forever that the user should be able to choose what flag accurately represents his nationality.

I agree with this.

Many are regions but in the case of the United Kingdom; England, Wales and Scotland are countries. Where's my Yorkshire flag. Kappa

The example that always comes to my mind is Quebec.

I did not realise that there were regions for other countries e.g. states for the US.

But like FurryWulfz said the UK is a special case because the regions available are individual countries in their own rights.

Maybe the solution I am after is to add England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland as individual countries that you can choose from alongside the UK.
