NES Any%

I'm just curious about all the "additional info".

Are they all necessary? Like Copy Protection Modification Steel Door

I don't know how copyright protection would affect the run, or what it is at all. Neighter do I understand what modification is. If you're running on NES / NTCS, what differences are there? There's no "sub categories" in Zelda:ALLTP between NTCS and Jap 1.0 which has huge differences, so why bother with it here?

And what is modification? When would it ever be viable/allowed?!?

In ANY% you're pretty much allowed to do any route, right? So why bother stating if it's with steel door or not?

I suggest simply removing all those confusing things from the NES NTCS Any% board.

Hi, in fact I wasn't able to figure out how to remove extras/subcategories from chosen categories. When I remove an extra it is removed from all categories. So I am pretty sure it is not possible.

The reason why I inserted the "steel door" extra is that on this place the copy protection in MM is placed. This means NES has no Copy Protection, therefore the steel door is open and you can walk through.

In the PC Version the steel door is closed and when you try to open it you have to open your manual and enter the correct Copy Protection code. If the copy protection is bypassed the steel door is still closed, but can enter almost any code. We wanted to keep all possibilities open, because maybe some wants to speedrun it including the whole copy protection.

Regarding the modification: We just wanted to Show how fast the PC could be when we modify it to act like the NES Version, where you can enter 0000 on the Lab Door. In the Mod version we can enter 1111 to open the door.

Hopefully this could answer all your questions.

Wouldn't it be easier to understand if it was in the rules for each category? That way you wouldn't affect all categories.

If you want possibilities you could just add more categories and regulate them in the ruleset, right? As a new runner to maniac mansion I found it incredible confusing with all the things and I still do even though I now understand why they are there. In my opinion it would be alot easier for spectators to understand if it didn't have all those options in the leaderbord but rather in the ruleset for the specific category.
