I'd like to know what a lot of you out there use to record your old systems for use with OBS. best card, cheapest card? I'd just like some options since I'm new to this. my only run is of Metroid so far and that was on Emulator which is also an option depending on the game.

The GV-USB2 capture card is the best standard definition one out there. It's affordable, it's only about $30 to $40 and does both regular composite and s-video. I highly recommend it as it is amazing quality for it's price.

If you're interested, I recommend reading this https://docs.google.com/document/d/1Op8aK2RecKhjRJB7juOvwUjkXwBbL1eipxUpixBS2c4/edit to get tips on how to make your stream look the best for older systems. It's a guide made by EvilAsh25 and it's very detailed that goes over all of the cables and equipment you'll need to stream retro consoles/games in the best quality.
